I had the same exact thoughts and not really sure. Maybe the new AD decided he'll put the Paycom dude's name on a building or something. I'm interested to see if they suddenly have a lot more money to throw around or if they're exaggerating it.
-
His ram of the east video he posted has me thinking it's not as clear cut as he's making it out to be in the interview... Something seems to be weighing on his mind.
-
Same takeaways I had from that portion as well. He just about insinuated that DT leaked the Adderall thing too. "it's funny how these things come out when someone loses, looking for excuses". I was also interested to hear how he said DT and his guys "manipulated the room" and had secret training sessions to get an edge on Brooks.
-
Brooks stated himself that the doctors needed the Rx when he took the test but he clearly doesn't know the process for getting cleared to take PEDs properly. Either way, super irresponsible to not follow the TUE process and just showing up thinking it'll be fine and dandy. It sounds like he didn't even have a TUE until after he popped hot.
-
Suggesting DT and his team's "hearts are hardened" and he hopes they find Jesus is just disrespectful af. He thinks the fact that he had a difficult path and got on the team is proof that God exists? C'mon dude. And then the kicker (paraphrasing) "I hope he actually wants to take the job and isn't doing it just to get the news of him losing to me out of the media". Brooks seems like a good kid, but he's a moron.
-
Was Brooks insinuating that DT leaked his Vyvanse use to Mineo? I highly doubt DT would do that. Also, Brooks is a dumbass for not following the right process. "I was struggling in school so I got Vyvanse.." and he didn't even bring the Rx with him when he got tested. So irresponsible. Like Chael said, if WADA is overseeing it, he's probably screwed. There's reasons why these processes need to be followed, particularly cuz anyone and their mom can get a stimulant Rx with no real evidence of needing it. And finally, Brooks came across as an idiot once again in that interview with Basch on his comments regarding Taylor. Saying their hearts are truly hardened if they can't see God was at play when he won the spot. Dude, stfu and get over yourself.

Idk, they said the Paycom guy brought out the big bucks and has committed to keeping the cash coming. The AD even said the Paycom dude gave them the jet to fly to Penn State. Might be some newer money.
-
There is another video with him answering questions and he does say that Cael didn't want him to go but is happy for him. I expected Cael to encourage him to take it but not sure that was the case...
-
Hahahah I deserve that and therefore will not edit it out.

someone used to call out pop on no alcohol

Well if that's the case, you won't be seeing me on Penn State, NC State, or OkState's team anytime soon. Their loss. -
Will Chris Perry Stay at Oklahoma State?
pokemonster replied to CowboyYe2024's topic in College Wrestling
What's his FB group titled? Also, with the "lifestyle" comments, are the OkState guys big drinkers or something? Askren posted a video where he said he can see some current OkState wrestlers wanting to leave if Taylor says no more partying, which "isn't what they signed up for". -
Exciting to see these names announced and confirms the insider info @Husker_Du and Basch received was accurate. I'm curious to see who the big guy coach is going to be. Any leaks out there?
-
Fun fact: David Taylor is Stiebers lone loss in high school as a freshman (DT was a soph). Also, this isn't the "other OSU" but THE OSU. Don't believe it? Look at the .edu email addresses for all of the supposed "OSU" schools: Oklahoma State: @okstate.edu Oregon State: @oregonstate.edu Ohio State: @osu.edu I arrest my case.
-
I'm following ya and agreed.
-
Oh, I thought your comment about Lee running a company was in jest of Taylor's side hustles preventing him from taking the OkSt job, lol. While I don't think side hustles or ties to the area will really impact anyone's decision to leave, I do firmly believe their training and wrestling goals will. That's why I don't see anyone who's deeply in the midst of training for the Olympics jumping ship, it'd be way too much of a distraction / pain in the ass IMO.

One of the funnier aspects to this whole thing is Cael Sanderson, who left Ames in what, 2009, still owns and operates multiple businesses in Ames. He even purchased 4 duplex properties there 5 years AFTER leaving Ames. https://www.amestrib.com/story/news/local/2014/03/14/ex-isu-wrestling-coach-sanderson/27291182007/ Hopefully this puts an end to everyone's dumb speculation that side hustles and owning property means you're tied somewhere for life.

If Coleman were to stay, he'd have a lot more resolve than me. Plus, people are already butt-hurt about the decision, it's not going to be good for anyone to keep him in there. It'd be difficult to not cause a division in the locker room.
-
Agreed, he has always been elite albeit he seems to have plateaued. Nothing better to overcome a plateau than to change things up a bit.
-
Or a splash of PEDs mixed in...?
-
I don't think there are any case files public to read, but if the actions reported did occur, I don't really blame anyone for disliking him. Gross and ***ducked** up regardless of if somebody said "yeah i'm down".
-
Not to mention that Cael forced out Bobby Douglas, his mentor, in order to be promoted to Head Coach. Then up and left the program after that. How is that for loyal? Check out the 3 minute mark in this StaleMates video if you don't believe me.

And Guerrero... And Esposito...

Yeah, taxes and fees. But who the F knows, billionaires find plenty of tax loopholes.

Pulling out my calculator... assuming taxes take up 3% of that, $50 milli per year to toss around assuming they've only got 1 billi invested.
