My general opinion on release before trial is that it should be based on factors of the crime accused, the strength of the evidence used to charge, and the judges judgement on how strongly they believe the accused would show up for trial, with money not really a factor. Honestly when it gets right down to it I don’t know how much the money is a factor in whether or not someone shows up. That said, I believe, generally speaking, that a violent storming of the Capitol in an effort to overturn, or at the least obstruct, our election is justifiable to hold without bail. Now, I said generally speaking because each individual case is it’s own individual case. No possible way me or anyone else on here could give an informed opinion on each individual case.

I think a big part of the sentiment for the victims is that we’re still at the stage of the process where the accused has not been found guilty, therefore they are still by law innocent. Not saying it’s right, just that it’s a catch 22 in the law, for the sake of protecting the innocent. The theory of rather seeing 9 guilty men go free as opposed to one innocent man go to jail.

Well you come into a thread discussing MTG with your first whatabout….schools. That wasn’t getting the play you wanted so you went to another unrelated whatabout….immigrants in Chicago. That got about as much play as the thread you put it in originally, so you went to another what about….. immigrants in New York, stating ‘this is you’, even though the topic was MTG and porn. So I guess the only question I have is…..which of these unrelated topic problems are you referring to that I don’t care about??

Good question. And honestly I don’t know that could be answered definitively. I would say MAGA has 1) taken conservative agenda to the extreme and 2) MAGA is not interested in cooperating and negotiating with liberals to enact policy that is more conservative than liberal, but instead MAGA is interested holding no quarter and destroying anything liberal at all costs. I go back to that picture I put up of all the former presidents getting together before Obama took office. MAGA would not participate in that. MAGA won’t even show up to inauguration. As far as a policy example, conservatives have always been anti-abortion, but it’s always been more along the lines of abortion being used as general birth control. Under MAGA abortion is not acceptable under any circumstances (except for the hookers they knock up)

I’m okay with the concept (if I understand correctly) that if you can’t post bail there’s some type of monitoring. (GPS, house arrest). The BUT is 1) now there is equipment involved that is going to cost tax payers money, instead of costing the accused money. and 2)….well what I said above.

I would say no longer tenants of MAGA more so than conservatism. There's still a few of us out here that don't buy into that nonsense.

Oh......so I'm supposed to go to a school let's say....California....waltz into the school board, and tell them how things are going to be run? That seems effective. Or..I can stick with my own community. It may not come across as righteous as screaming on social media about it, but it seems to work for me.
