  1. Nobody cares about that. But Jimmy, do you think Starocci/Brooks/Kerk will outscore the next closest team at NCAA’s this year?
  2. Hey Jimmy, how are you my man? You were spot on, an absolute bullseye take of takes. Impressive. Can I get your opinion on potential Mesenbrink Carr/O’Toole matchups?
  3. I wasn’t sure that would translate so quickly to collegiate folkstyle, were you? The one I’m really interested to see is the Caliendo match, how he handles a strong, athletic, well-conditioned guy that’s been around a bit longer. I think that’ll be a great indicator for what to expect against Carr and KOT
  4. He will. Mesenbrink is going to be(if not already)elite. That’s an ultra talented dude with one of the best motors/mindsets I’ve ever seen. I don’t expect him to beat KOT or Carr this year, but he’ll win 2-3 NCAA championships
  5. Oh so one injury AND a number of hopeful hypotheticals? What else would they need? Keep going.
  6. Every year Jimmy. Every freaking year, you come across as not having learned from recent history. There’s struggle, there’s peaking, there’s regression; Penn State like every other team goes through this and absolutely masters performance in mid-March. I would be concerned if they DON’T look this way at different points through the season, that’s how peaking works!
  7. A 5’3” head coach? Wasn’t Napoleon like 5’6 at least? Physical stature matters. Burroughs
  8. The returning points are like 140 to 65. Jimmy’s sayin stupid sheet again. I expect Iowa to be within 50, though.
  9. Haven’t there been some “Hammer’s” wrestling in college over the years? Worst has to be Caleb Fish lol. He’s anything but, though.
  10. Time will tell, won’t it Jimmy. It will be close, if that is the lineup they take into the postseason next year. That team would threaten the all-time mark, not sure what other standard or comparison you’d use.
  11. For sure, and obviously he was going to be. To say Truax is not is where I take exception. He already has been in the past. The only one at 184 he was very unlikely to beat is now his teammate and he’s already beaten the other guy who would be the co-favorite, imo.
  12. You don’t think Truax is an immediate title contender? That’s weird. Truax had a far more successful series of NCAA finishes prior to transfer than Woods(best finish was sixth) prior to his move to Iowa. Interesting comparison and conclusion.
  13. Absolutely, lol at the golden brick. That needs to happen. Well done sir
  14. Have to think there will be a transfer for at least one of those weights.
  15. It's weird to say, but it wouldn't surprise me based on the recent history of PSU adjustments. But I still can't see it based on what happened Sunday. All great points and I agree with you all you both said. Or at least it sure seemed that way four days ago. Another landmine I see for PSU is the Haines/Andonian potential quarterfinal. I think I do slightly overrate Andonian, though.
  16. I loved the Jason Kelce response halfway through the year on the topic. Victimization and blame are problems. I do it too, though lol. Where I'm at, finding quality high school referees/umpires/officials is a huge problem. It's no wonder why.
  17. What do you all see in a Dean/Allred rematch, assuming it happens? Watching that beatdown, I don't see how any PSU game planning and adjustments can change the end result. Allred's had significant issues with Sloan and Trumble this year. Has he improved that much, or are these all matchup and style aspects?
  18. Who placed the 50/50 odds on Woods winning NCAA’s? You? Is it Woods against the field as even? He’s a huge individual favorite if that’s true, seems strange Jim
  19. Why is the wrestling community in general so focused on officiating? I was reading through the Iowa board Session 4 thread and would guess 80% of the posts had the word “stall” in them. This is a more…controlled discussion and involves rule philosophy, but it’s always the same focus.
  20. Two Nebraska finalists would be a feat. I wish Lovett was wrestling this year.
  21. Lol. Yeah, they add on the RT point at the end. 9-1 final. I agree with GK’s approach, however. Perhaps he’s trying to save himself for tonight? I don’t know.
  22. I don’t think it’s so much of what they’re built for, as it is a peaking principle. Cael’s really good at sacrificing something in the weeks prior to the NCAA tourney to have his guys at their best when it matters most. He’s the best at it. His dad was the same way as a coach. With the elite guys they always have, it does weight more heavily the bigger the tournament though, that’s definitely true.
  23. You questioned his strength a couple weeks ago and called him a “string bean”.
  24. That’s why I said “really close”. Despite, being a current runner-up, Warner is not a reasonable title pick right now. 3rd is quite lofty at this point. I would, however, pick Woods to win 141 myself. Murin at 3…could happen. 7/8 or R12 is more realistic. As a whole, that series of projections is very ambitious.
