  1. I think Starocci being a Penn State gent eliminated him doubly.

  3. I would like to see Dom Lajoie land at one of the Michigan schools. At the very least he provides a level of leadership that can't be matched by anyone that any of them will have in the room next season. Also he was clearly hurt this year.
  4. YES! Just came here to post that @Mike Parrish.
  5. I believe it goes off of Olympic standards for UWW. Typically a grandparent must have citizenship or something like that.
  6. I think Parco is a favorite, however I do think Lamer made some leaps last offseason that weren't quite evident due to the double weight jump. Weight classes exist for a reason and if he drops to 149 I expect him to reinforce that concept.
  7. You bring up some good sfuff, actually. Cal Poly made some moves with their roster and Dom Demas coming in to set them to succeed specifically in a dual format. It worked and they won the PAC12 Dual Meet Championship. This said, they wrestled up two weight classes in most scenarios. They have a some good Frosh coming off shirt down in the 125-141 range. Maybe we see Lorenzo at 125 or 133 or maybe we don't. If we don't, then that means they are sitting pretty there because I wouod expect Lorenzo to contend for low AA/R12 honors next season. They also have Saenz at 141 who does have a year left, however it is his 'bonus' year so who knows. He also has wrestled everywhere from 133-149 in his career, so does he take the NC State approach to his extra year to eat and be happy going 149 or does he drop to 133 and try to contend for a PAC12 title? The meat and potatoes of the group has all been up at least one weight, if not two. Legend Lamer - 149 to 165 amd always seemed outmatched via muscle and size. If he were to drop back to 149, he could contend for a title. Luka Wick - Reminds me of Evan-lite. Does he stay 157 or go 165 in an attempt to settle in to a permanent senior level weight? 157lbers seemed to muscle him around a bit much last year, so 165lbers would brutalize him. Jarad Priest - A 174lber through and not a large one. He did go 184 and was well undersized when doing so. Can he drop to 165? He would be a favorite at 165 in the PAC12 if so - IF Griffith bolts for the B1G somewhere. Adam Kemp - Injury riddled and a free year left. I say he goes wherever he is comfortable ot hangs them up. Bernie Truax IV - If he stays, let him go whatever weight he wants. If Brooks goes 197 he should go 184 regardless of where he attends. Trevor Tinker - He is a solid 250lb HWT. It would be nice to lean out and add muscle so he can contend with thr athletes at 285 as well. To me this is their peak performance lineup: 125 - Lorenzo 133 - Saenz 141 - Committee Until Settled 149 - Lamer 157 - Wick 165 - Kemp 174 - Priest 184 - Truax 197 - Committee Until Settled 285 - Tinker For duals they have some supremely talented true frosh coming in around 170 so perhaps bump Truax anf Priest for the PAC12 Duals. That lineup likely wins PAC12 duals again and scores more individually than this last season at PAC12 Individuals and NCAAs.
  8. Tanner Hall was 42 years old and left one year on the table. What are you insinuating?
  9. Honestly something like this may depend on how good Coon looks in his return this International season. He could breeze through a high AA and whoever we have if Coon isn't near the form he was. There is nobody else who could potentially be close to him.
  10. Guy. You have trouble reading or something? Truax is well under the 197lb limit without even cutting. Day 2 he weighed in at 188lbs, 10lbs under the 197+1 limit. I personally talked to some of the Cal Poly squad at our hotel that morning and they said he was under 190 with warmups on. His 18-3 record this season was his best, yes, but he also missed a very large stretch of it where he would have had competitive matches. I would have put money on him having more wins and the same losses either way, though. The same can be said for each season too, fwiw. Also, also, his first year midway through the season he went to 157, so it isn't like he ballooned from 149 to 165 in one offseason. He was already having to cut to get to 157 by the end of that season. Also, also, also, his tweet says he will be looking in to a number of graduate schools for his last year of eligibility. No mention of staying at Cal Poly for it.
  11. It appears Austin Gomez has won the 65 KG spot. Curious if Anthony Valencia also won the spot? Additionally I wish Zahid Valencia and Cael Valencia would also wrestle for Mexico. Mexico, Puerto Rico... just need a few others to have our own little Eastern Bloc.
  12. If DeAuggie returns perhaps a weight swap with Cannon is in order? Lucas has to be coming back, right? He won't leave it at that.
  13. Any chance Foy gets 2020 or 2019 as a medical ad gets himself one more season? Joles back would fill 197 ad well. Blockhus and Lee would fill 149/157 too. Sparks is bugger than Carlson? If Lee doesn't return, I actually think one of them could drop to 157 rather than go up?
  14. If he said 213 wad an easier cut I imagine he is a comfortable 220-225 flr Freestyle already. That puts him at 230-ish, right?
  15. I am hoping Nevills heads there, honestly. That said, if he doesn't might Sloan go up? During one of his interviews from 97 KG he said he cut a lot to get down to 197lbs and that 213lbs (97 KG) was a much more comfortable cut. He doesn't look that big, but I know some guys carry weight differently.
  16. I think you let Doucet go another season. It was his first go in the lineup and he gave Parris his 2nd toughest match of the season.
  17. There are several rumors of incoming transfers as well as true frosh coming in. I have also added some notes above. I think UofM is clearly in the running for at least two high profile transfers. There are four big names out there right now as well as a fifth that was thrown around quite a bit. Shane Griffith, Stanford, 165/174 - I think Michigan stands a fair chance to land him, as they were on the short list last time. Indo think he goes 174 if he comes in, although any combination of him and Amine at 165/174 should work just fine. Bernie Truax, Cal Poly, 184/197 - I don't think there is a whole lot of traction for him to UofM, however he is an Engineering student so UofM might just be in for consideration. I think Truax heads to Penn State and goes 184. Yaraslau Slavikousji, Harvard, 285 - I think he gives Jenkins that extra year to grow to the 245-255lber he needs to be. Unfortunately he isn't on the same tier as Kerk, Cass, Hendrickson, Davison, or Schultzy so that is 6th at best. He might drop some matches too to gents of the same tier. Still a guy that wins much more than he loses. Seth Nevills, Penn State, 285 - I think this guy is headed to South Dakota State (gut feeling). He would be right there on the same level as Slavikouski, though (my opinion). Jake Woodley, Oklahoma, 197 - He had some transcript problems that made it so he could not compete. He did take his alpha and certify, so I am not sure what that does for eligibility. If he gets it granted somehow, he should slide in nicely at 197 while Walters gets his redshirt in. Incoming Frosh... Michigan has a slew of incoming frosh that could make an immediate impact or step in, in the case of potential injuries. Caden Horwath, 125/133 - He could very well beat out McHenry straight away at 125 or allow Ragusin to head up to 141 and take over 133 straight away. He doesn't need to add strength and looks overall to be a better, more explosive version if when Drew Mattin first hit the scene. Sergio Lemley, 141 - He could beat out Nolan straight away. He is pretty damn good, too. Dylan Gilcher, 149/157 - He is good enough right now where maybe Lamer makes the drop to 141 and he mans the 149lb spot. Beau Mantanona, 157 - I imagine he redshirts in any scenario. He is larger and more explosive than Lewan, so I expect him to settle in at 165 after Amine is gone. Hayden Walters, 197 - The heir apparent to 197. Michigan is hoping he will give them four good years, but I do think a redshirt will help him with that.
  18. Woodley had one year of eligibility remaining - this year. He couldn't get it sorted, so I don't think he'll be back.
