Did he really?
I know Richards beat Gilman two nil... if Gilman challenges I still expect him to win. I am not worried about Gilman against any of those guys and they better hope they are on the opposite side as him so they still have a chance.
Cuba always has someone tough there, if they even sponsor a squad. They seem to be struggling with that for some reason.
Micic wrestled out of his mind. I don't agree on Zain. I think he is right there and styles make matches. If he goes 74 KG I do think Dake destroys him... but he could play spoiler to another foe or two along the way. I wish Pantaleo would also have committed to 74 KG and done the same.
Fix is too short for 65 KG. I am okay accepting that. I honestly wish he'd Oly-shirt this season and enter midlands at 141 as well as the BF at 65 KG to test the waters.
Same for Arujau, even though Arujau has already said he will not Oly-shirt. Arujau has been a different animal since he has decided to focus on wrestling and not weight management. The guy needs to not go 57 KG.
Same.
You contradict yourself there a bit, don't you? If Destribats was less of a concern and they are more game, then they mus surely be more of a threat. I don't think any are for Gilman at 57 KG. A sucked down Fix and Arujau against RBY? Not so sure. Cruz just isn't dynamic enough to give either of them a match, nor RBY - imho.
He never made 125... he made 125.7 (57 * 2.2046 = 125.6622). In any case, he has been toying with 61/65 recently and decided two weeks ago he was going 57 KG again.
It is bonkers to me that he can be weighing 145lbs and decide two weeks out two years in a row and bring home a medal.
He meant that despite him toying with going up to 65 KG he has been consistently going 57 KG at Worlds and Olympics. His 'Tokyo' comment is wrong since he legitimately made 57 KG at Worlds last year (2022) as well as a few ranking tournaments (right?).
