  1. Isn’t that exactly what Leistikow’s tweet said though and that it was a “change of plans”? So nothing changed except that he might start?
  2. He didn’t, that’s why I said I didn’t know what his plan was/is and why it was just a theory from Iowa fans.
  3. I have no idea what his plan was/is, but I believe the theory was he could wrestle 197 this season while redshirting for football, then bump up to heavyweight next year when Cassioppi graduated.
  4. Does this count as official acknowledgement of Cassioppi's suspension?
  5. Yeah but IMO that’s more of an issue with their skirting of the Ivy redshirt rule not the RTC system
  6. Yeah that’s the one I already acknowledged they were skirting… Do most of them take less than 12 credits? I thought part of the idea behind the community college thing was to help get them admitted to Cornell and I would think taking less than 12 wouldn’t really help that
  7. Meh, I’m not sure if he’s doing much different than most other coaches there.
  8. Thanks, although #3 wasn’t really a yes or no question. I have knocked Koll’s skirting of the Ivy League redshirt rule, and I guess by extension the “rules” of getting admitted to Cornell, but what other rules does he “violate the spirit” of?
  9. Cool video, thanks for sharing. How many matches did he say he wrestled in 3 years?
  10. Without knowing who the coach will be I could see Stanford or Princeton guys going to to Cornell or Penn and getting similar academics (sans the Cornell Ag school). Although I can’t remember the rules for transferring into Ivies… Agree that I don’t see why anyone would leave UNC, unless maybe they were really close with Scott. I also wouldn’t be shocked to see Stanford guys follow Koll to UNC. Despite the lesser academic pedigree I know Koll talks a lot about helping to get guys jobs which is really all that matters
  11. I’m confused by this post on multiple levels. Are you referring to Koll with the “shooting for 10-15 range and violating the spirit of every rule in the book”? Are you calling the Brands “younger”? Are you saying Tom Brands is or isn’t HC material?
  12. Hahn went to HS in NJ about an hour from Princeton. Although Lakewood and Princeton are basically different planets
  13. So is it safe to say Espo "bailed" on OSU too? Because when Terry left UTC it was to coach at the OTC. The year he left UTC they finished 21st at NCAA's and had 2 AA's when they hadn't had any in the prior 13 years.
  14. Sheesh Jimmy do you get an alert for every post at HR? That post was made 3 minutes before you posted
  15. Well 50% of those 80% wouldn’t have been needed if their starters didn’t get suspended. So it tells us the Brands need to do a better job of keeping their wrestlers (and son/nephew) from gambling.
  16. On the recent post someone commented saying “can I have the last one” and he said “I wish”…
  17. That’s just reporting on the Instagram post which simply says he “got hooked up” and could mean any number of things, it doesn’t even appear he heard from Daton directly for this blurb. He just posted this a couple weeks ago, 11 months after the previous one, so at best it could be the free one year lease. https://www.instagram.com/p/CwYFyEDO3j4/
  18. Just listened to his Bader show interview, he addressed several things that have been brought up here or other things that I thought were interesting: 1. Said Ramos was one of the first people to call him when Coleman Scott said he was leaving. So maybe he won’t be too upset about not getting the job… 2. Commented on the high cost of living in Palo Alto. The Stanford housing discount or whatever is only available to faculty, and is still expensive. Called out people online thinking they know everything, maybe he reads here? Said he lived in a 1,000 square foot townhouse. Later mentioned the RTC paid $175K per year for housing for the coaches 3. Sounds like he plans to bring some of the Stanford coaches to UNC, but also mentioned he seemed to recommend Enock Francois to be the HC at Stanford 4. Said harder to get kids admitted to Stanford than Cornell. Thinks UNC is best of all worlds in terms of being a good academic school but still being favorable to getting athletes accepted 5. Rob Koll gets a lot of text messages
  19. Lindenwood Open, yes they were both freshmen. Broderson redshirted and Assad would later have his pulled. Was there even talk of Assad going 197 if he’s not suspended?
  20. First off, love wrestlestat, best wrestling website in history IMO. And yes, I know “they’re ratings, not rankings.” But that doesn’t mean the algorithm can’t be improved. I’m not sure if anything’s changed but the preseason rankings don’t seem as bad as before last season when IIC like 3 multiple time returning champs we’re not ranked #1. But I present the 2 “ratings” that stick out to me the most: 1. Hendrickson over Kerk 2. Redshirt freshman Garrett Grice #11 at 133. Hope he proves me wrong but he has done nothing to be that high. 13-2 as a redshirt, best win was over #57 (last year) Brendan Ferretti, losses to #25 Zaccone and #47 Carter. Huh? Honestly 133 does look a little shallow but still. Wrestlestat guys if you’re reading this, love you but it seems there are 3 main areas for improvement IMO. 1. NCAA tournament performance should have a higher weight 2. Bonus wins should have a lower weight 3. Results from several years back should have a lower weight
