  1. I take it you don’t count the “All-Star classic”?
  2. Not sure I follow. I did try to stay away from Johnsons and similar if that’s what you’re getting at.
  3. Yeah I’d probably even go as far as saying PSU having seven champs is more likely than them only having one finalist
  4. All Valentine’s Day team: 125: Mason Leiphart, F&M 133: Zach Redding, ISU 141: Allan Hart, Mizzou 149: Johnny Lovett, CMU 157 (bumping up from 149): Chaz Hallmark, Cal Baptist 165: Andrew Sparks, Minnesota 174 (cutting down to where he wrestled last year): Matt Finesilver, Michigan 184: Cordell Duhart, Presbyterian 197: Silas Allred, Nebraska 285: Ben Goldin, Penn
  5. Well sure lots of things are “possible.” I think 6 champs is more likely than only 1 in the finals
  6. Only 1 finalist? No I don’t think that is possible.
  7. I haven’t really heard a Penn State wrestler talk about much of anything except maybe Starocci talking about how great he is
  8. Barnett beat Courtney at MIdlands this year
  9. I'm guessing with Soldano it might be more of don't want the other guy to get a feel for him (still a duck from Goodale though unless he's injured)
  10. Maybe this is just the norm now, but I feel like there were quite a few anticipated matchups that did not happen. I presume some were actual injuries Michigan/Iowa: Ragusin (Teske) Amine (Kennedy) Ragusin wrestled against Indiana, Amine did not. I know back at themat we would not call it an official duck if the wrestler also missed the next match (particularly against an unranked opponent). Northwestern/Purdue: DeAugustino (Ramos) - NW forfeited Tal Shahar (Filius) - NW forfeited Both of them wrestled Friday against Northern Illinois, although DeAugustino actually lost. UNC/VT: Sherman (Henson) - Sherman did not wrestle in last week’s dual either…injury? Lautt (Lewis) Minnesota/Wisconsin: Brayton Lee (Model) Kudos to UNI/Iowa State and Pitt/VT who looked to wrestle their full lineups.
  11. Pyles on FRL one day said Brands alluded to an injury and that he wouldn’t be wrestling this past weekend
  12. So he got 2 medical redshirts in 2018 and 2019? Weirdly wrestlestat only shows 1
  13. Yeah to be clear I’m referring to the 1:47 to 1:10 timeframe. I think most of what follows can be argued as not stalling according to the rulebook, although some refs certainly might’ve hit him for basically walking Hart out of bounds
  14. Did you see the match in question? The link in the OP didn’t work for me but it starts at 9:45 of this one: That’s stalling even by the rulebook definition.
  15. The most common example I can think of is if someone is in on a double (could also get to that position from a mat return) and then locks around the body to take them to their back. I’ve never seen that called locked hands even if locked prior to meeting nearfall criteria (and after the TD was awarded if from neutral)
  16. I thought it just had to be a pinning situation or something, not necessarily meeting NF criteria, but could be wrong
  17. Just saw Willie asked the same question. Apparently neutral danger takedown is past 90, didn’t realize that
  18. I don’t think anyone said he actually was, just that they think he should have been?
  19. It’s Bormet, not the wrestlers, clearly
  20. I don’t see how he didn’t get nearfall if he got the danger takedown, seemed like Parris didn’t really move. Is danger a different angle required?
  21. Is this that politician guy from Kansas or something that would post random stuff on themat?
  22. Although… Coaches rank has Courtney tied for 7, so keeping Lee at 1 keeps him on the opposite side. There’s probably a decent chance Courtney ends up at 6 or 7. He likely isn’t passing Lee, Barnett (lost H2H), Glory or Cardinale. 1 or 2 other B10 guys probably stay ahead of him, but he could jump the rest. Probably thinking way too much into this lol…
  23. I saw that. And Zeke had a vote for 125 too… Which is another a stupid thing about this process…each conference gets 2 votes for every weight, regardless of the size of the conference. So Zeke gets 4 votes but Cael only gets 2.
