  1. I think Lamer beats Van Ness and Kerk beats Parris

I’ll throw Jore Volk’s name in the mix. True freshman that made the U20 world team and seems to be on an upward trajectory beating a tough Noah Surtin 11-1 last week.
  3. He is also 4-8 on the year being pinned by Kolby DePron from Bucknell and beat 9-0 by Alek Martin from SDSU.

For starters, he beat Lucas Byrd in his first college tournament as a true freshman.....

He has been wrestling tough. Will he be able to break through the likes of Brooks, Hidlay, Keck??

Phillipi has been so solid its hard to believe that he has never AA'd. He has been R12 3 times at NCAA's. His R12 opponents have been Chris Cannon, Lucas Byrd and RBY.
  7. Wouldn’t it be more likely for Thompson and Heeg to redshirt and have Plott Wittlake go 174/184 again?
  8. The line at 125 would probably be Spencer -14.5. Tech or pin covers the spread
  9. If Schriever goes at 133, Burwick would have a much more favorable matchup. I honestly think PK controls Wilson fairly easily and might even major him.

Cook just needs 5 guys to walk into his gator bacon
  11. If you take out Burwick's redshirt season he is basically a career .500 wrestler. Dayne Morton got beat by Alek Martin (SDSU, go Jacks!) 9-0 while Murin tech falled Martin 20-4. Hardy vs Woods could go either way but Woods is the more proven commodity at this points with Hardy having lossed to Droegmueller and Jack this year. Bubba Wilson just got beat by Sparks and Mayfield and you expect him to beat PK?? Pinto and Assad should be a good match that could go either way. Maybe I am tainted from watching Allred get decked by Sloan (SDSU) but I just don't see him beating Warner.
  12. I concur. Many of his techs occur rather quickly.
  13. 141 & 184 should both be good matches. We should learn a lot about Hardy, Siebrect and Pinto in this dual.
  14. 125 - Lee by Fall 6-0 133 - Teske by Dec 9-0 141 - Woods by Dec 12-0 149 - Murin by Dec 15-0 157 - Robb by Dec 15-3 165 - Kennedy by Dec 18-3 174 - Labriola by Dec 18-6 184 - Assad by Dec 21-6 197 - Warner by Dec 24-6 HWT - Cass by Fall 30-6

Very tough kid. His 13-12 loss to Gross at World Team Trials put him on my radar as someone to take serious. It will be interesting to see how he stacks up against the top 3 guys (RBY, Fix, Vito).
  16. Who is the lowest ranked wrestler currently that you would not be shocked to see making the NCAA Finals? I listed a few examples below. Using Intermat Rankings of course. Michael Carr 157 (Illinois) Ranked 20th Casey Swiderski 141 (ISU) Ranked 19th Tanner Sloan 197 (SDSU) Ranked 12th Matt Ramos 125 (Purdue) Ranked 10th Jesse Mendez 133 (tOSU) Ranked 9th Brock Mauller 149 (Mizzou) Ranked 8th Jacob Warner 197 (Iowa) Ranked 8th
  17. Speaking of Tagg, is he going to wrestle this year?
  18. Pinto is a solid young wrestler but will need to make a fairly big leap in the off season to be considered a title contender in my opinion. It is going to be a battle for him to make the podium this year with top 5 pretty likely to AA in Brooks, Hidlay, Keck, Coleman & Romero. That leaves 3 remaining AA spots for Bolen, Munoz, Loew, Salazar, Assad, Finesilver, Pinto, Kane, Wittlake, etc.. I think Lenny will be on the outside looking in this year.
  19. On the 2 & 2 when pinto granby'd out all that is required is for him to be returned down to the mat because Salazar had control in the rear standing position. Very similar to Max Dean vs Ethan Laird earlier in the year. It is a dumb rule that I hope they look into changing in the offseason.
  20. Don't forget the loss to Sahm AbdulRassaq. Pinto is a solid redshirt freshman but will obviously need to make a big leap to challenge for a title (unless you are watching through corn colored lenses).
  21. He's a tough kid but got to break into the top 3 before he's considered a contender.
  22. Isn't this Cronin's last year?
  23. Who is the 4th? Hardy, Lovett, Robb, ??
  24. Ybarra has been wrestling 133 as has Teske. Neither would have the time to descend down.
