  1. I think it can be partially attributed to the wrestlers, Ryan Jack and Camcho have underperformed at NCAA's seemingly every year. A singular instance this year but Andonian and Stewart were both certainly seeded lower than their skill level just given the amount of matches they had on the year.
  2. I know at M2 they spar a ton and drill backwards through positions, I would guess his style of coaching will not differ a ton from Johns in terms of the technical excellence, but I believe he will be more adapted to working on guys styles rather than molding them into his own.
  3. how do you think deshazer would have done at the d1 level given his ability to beat high end d1 guys in freestyle, or do you think hes just better at free and developed later.
  4. I've discussed this match a lot realized its on uww's YouTube so thought I would post it.
  5. okie state feels like they have a bit more upside than Ohio State to me however Ohio State has 3 guys that are relatively sure things to top 4
  6. I presume it is impossible for Rathjen to make 141?
  7. I think you have 4 locks 174-285 and then 6 blood round low AA type guys although I think Jordan Williams makes a jump this year.
  8. hopefully the tank is better not cutting as much weight, Olejnik made a jump going there with John I have to think that Dean will do the same if not an even bigger jump with DT.
  9. Fish was r16 r12 the year prior. I do not think any of these are outrageous outside of maybe Hughes but that weight has cleared out and it remains to be seen if Bailey and Crookham can make 133 again I think Crookham will but Im not sure about Bailey. I'm probably going to be the worlds biggest Dean Hamiti gasser until proven otherwise after being in a good room and working with DT. I would set their O/U for AA's at 6.5
  10. Vito- Gold Yianni- I love yianni so I will not be predicting I think with zain being ineligible this could be a weak weight for us until Yianni has more time to grow into it. JB- Gold completely based off of his revenge arc Aura Zahid- There is no reason he should be losing to nurmagomedov again silver/gold depending on ghasempour
  11. As far as stature and international career go, I think Carroll is better served at 92/97 kg so 197 feels like the best fit for that. I think Merill has a bit more room to grow without jeopardizing athleticism. Carroll is a large fella, but he did not look particularly sucked out to me making 213 so I think if he is diligent with his dieting he can do it. J'den cox use to make 189.
  12. I know he has spoken about MMA aspirations, I really hope he sticks it out for another quad but if he were to go the MMA route Immediately Colorado is a good place to be and he would not be tied to an RTC then.
  13. Very true its just hard to imagine he can be at his absolute best in a setting where he does not have guys on his level or better than him on a given day. Perhaps hes doing something similar to micic where he is traveling as well as bringing guys in, but thinking about their team I would assume Zerben and Serrano are his main partners and while they're very good they are not world class.
  14. great for college wrestling, hope its best for his overall development as a wrestler.
  15. I could see Merill going 197 potentially for a year as well although I'd rather see him just take the year to grow.
  16. Isiah white is the first example that comes to mind of d2 guys that had a ton of success at the d1 level, and I think Joey Davis would have been a multiple time AA had he made the transition, but seeing Bo Bassett tech in 2:56 23-4 the returning fifth place who would go on to take third this year makes me wonder at times just how big the disparity between D1 and D2 is. For reference two weeks prior Bassett had to come from behind to beat angelo rini and vince santaniello who are solid, but neither were NQ's. Of course, this does not apply to ever d2 wrestler just something I was thinking about. James Jopling went fourth, third the last two years and I think was fourth string at Nc state.
  17. Was wondering if anyone had the list could not find it on usa wrestling.
  18. If you are a middle to upper middleweight, I cannot imagine a better two-man staff in the country to train under.
  19. I saw that, I would recommend watching his matches hes super super dynamic on his feet, The macedonian was baiting a single so he could sit corner and ended up cradling him I am going to watch his other matches to see if he continues to do that or if it was a scout. Sakamoto absolutely melted the Azerbaijani which was impressive. He's very good hip to hip with an over hook and has a nice knee pick as well as low single and slide bye.
  20. He said he will continue competing, I'm sure he will be doing mostly in room stuff and not handling a ton on the business end at least as of right now.
  21. SAKAMOTO Rin | United World Wrestling (uww.org) not sure how relevant this is but this fella from Japan will be attending on Okie states team I guess he moved to Stillwater last year.
  22. Not sure about all that, I do know that Iowa has been very inactive recruiting wise, presumably because they were looking to go big in the portal. So, if Okie state lands Alirez and Wyatt I would say that is them doing what Iowa had planned to do.
  23. I love a good greatest athletes thread, mine go in no order. Buvaisar Satiev Deion Sanders Phelps Bo Jackson Lebron/Jordan Tiger Woods Gretzky
  24. when I heard that he would not take the Missouri visit I assumed he was a lot closer than originally let on prior to his visits.
