  1. Except the trains stop before the end of Nats, Caps, and Wizards games so I imagine the same would occur for NCAA attendees.
  2. Mid-sized convention cities should be the primary discussion. Close to an airport, abundance of hotels within 15 minutes walking distance to the venue, nightlife, etc. I have travelled extensively throughout my career and here are some off the top of my head that would be great sites that can either check every box, or make up for a missing box by over-excelling in other areas. Kansas City, MO, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Philadelphia, Columbus, Phoenix, St. Louis, Detroit, DFW, (Arlington/Jerry-world would be too big but Dallas proper could do this). Atlanta and Nashville could really awaken Georgia and Tennessee wrestling over the long-term via youth-friendly exposure. Of course there is the big boy that offers something for everyone, except the long flights and costs that could add up real quick: Vegas baby! Chicago is spread too far apart in the distance delta of airport-venue-hotels-nightlife (you either do McCormick with only one train and absolutely not built for a mass exit, or you do the burbs which is an even worse choice). NYC is fun but too expensive for families and can quickly become a logistics nightmare for the uninitiated. Providence is too small at 14k capacity but would otherwise be a good choice for NCAAs.
  3. Yes we do. Olympic weights are harmful arbitrary decisions. 20 pounds is too much - weight classes exist for a reason. And Smith won 6 golds during an era of 10 weight classes. Would he have done the same if he had to compete at a non-optimal weight?
  4. Hard to compete for a medal when you’re behind a 3x world champ
  5. Zahid has beaten at least 5 individuals with world and/or Olympic medals
  6. Do you mind sharing your accounting team’s final determination of 2023 non-profit deductions with regards to a certain NLWC? Take the two upcoming 4-timer dubs for chrissakes…
  7. Yes, typically Pyles and Bader. They have a consistent brutal combination of not understanding high level wrestling, not having competed at high level wrestling themselves, not understanding the rules, and not understanding how to execute professional commentary. It’s barely a step above when BTN+ lets the J school kids announce their first wrestling meet. Flo would be wise to pay some high level participants for one-off finals matches e.g. John Smith for US Open finals MFS, Clarissa Chun for WFS, Mark Hall for Fargo finals, so on and so on. It wouldn’t hurt the Flo bottom line as much as it would hurt their feelings.
  8. Let’s ask someone who knows. Hey @Jason Bryant and/or @Jon_Kozak what’s the official stance on wrestlers competing at one weight for the US Open and another weight for WTT with regards to each style at the senior level?
  9. Full faith in the coaches. No false prophets on that staff.
  10. Word on the street is that anyone who placed can move to an adjacent weight for WTT. Fix, Suriano, Gross is worth the price of admission. DeSanto had a real nice showing until the finals and adds intrigue. I wonder if Zahid hires Hilger as his personal trainer and puffs up to 92. I don’t care about who bumps up to 125. It is cannon fodder. They shouldn’t even have WTT or Final X it’s just an injury risk for our golden child.
  11. Fake news. Everyone knows wrestling wasn’t invented until 2010.
  12. What NIL? That cupboard is bare in Norman and it has showed for a decade and was exposed over the past two years.
  13. The only transitive property we have is Snyder vs. Akgul while Snyder was the P4P king and Snyder was having a real bad time according to the limited footage that exists. It's the whole "weight classes exist for a reason, especially with the big boys" argument at the highest level. So by very flawed logic we have A) Akgul > Snyder B) Steveson > Akgul C) Snyder > Sadulaev - this would prove to be a temporary statement. It is saying that when this video was posted in 2018 Snyder was still riding high off his 2017 title over Sadulaev which we all know permanently changed a few months later and Snyder has been degraded to "only" the world silver medalist to Sadulaev. It means nothing yet everything to this exercise. But the point is that at the time of this video, the #1 97kg and world P4P champ was getting rocked by the then (2017 silver) #2 125kg. Flawed result: Size matters. But neither Sad or Steveson would take a shot so it would come down to who was able to survive to the second passivity and pushouts. If Steveson went down for whatever reason I would fear for his life because we found out he has a bit of trouble with a world class gut, and the Russian Tank has the best gut in the world. Likely outcome? Steveson. The would anyone be surprised because holy crap this man is actually a terminator sent back in time outcome? Sadulaev.
  14. Just watched. You know how happy this made me! And Hendrickson/Parris was awesome as well. It's so refreshing to see them looking and moving moving like 74s - Parris nearly ripped his legs off with the laces at the end of the first. By my count the Hendrickson/Bradley match and Parris/Hendrickson combined for 40 points and 12 abs (Dom Bradley did not contribute to this project).
  15. I meant to infer that I said elsewhere I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks won, and that I don't root for NLWC because I'm IRTC fella. PSU is the crown jewel and NLWC is insane. My fault for poor grammar choices.
  16. I said it elsewhere, but I refuse to root for NLWC until it's time for the big dance. And
  17. Oh wow no way we should pay attention to the best college and RTC in the country for progressive results? Can I get some stock market advice while we are at it?
  18. Zahid has won multiple world seniors rankings tournaments. Brooks was... teched by PD3. Hints? Sure. But don't act like this was expected.
  19. lol the hat didn't fit on Gable's big ass head
  20. Gwiz with that stupid challenge is taking time away from my Hendrickson/Bradley replay time
  21. Bingo. Surprise? No. But expected? No way.
