  1. He's downstairs drilling with Gable Steveson as we speak
  2. You didn't say anything before even though you knew! As a proud homeowner in Ottawa County, I feel betrayed by my fellow Michigan Man with regards to my favorite weight class. The Budapest participation is more obvious in hindsight but the omission stings nonetheless. But seriously, how hard was it to not be able to say anything?
  3. Word on the street is crazy. People I know and trust have kept this quiet, now they won’t answer or are giving conflicting answers. I have heard everything from HEW to significant injury to WWE sinking their teeth into their investment with heavy contention. At the end of the day it sucks and is confusing but it is settled either way. I hope Parris has had a proper training regimen for his sake. I’ll give two kudos: one to the group that kept it quiet for the sake of sticking by their guy and not doing them dirty, and another to our resident Michigan Man for opening the floodgates yesterday.
  4. It’s a stretch, but not a super crazy stretch, to say top 2 in Iran are among the top 4 in the world.
  5. 2018: Gable announces his presence to the world by doing the Ali Shuffle embarrasing Derek White in Stillwater while his coach Zach Esposito sits in the coach's chair with his head in his hands August 2023: Former OkSt associate head coach Zach Esposito moves to USAW as national freestyle developmental coach September 2023: Gable off the world team
  6. I'm sure Nagao would be okay with not starting because transferring to PSU was God's Plan™
  7. Someone is going to be a medal favorite but they are going to get drawn into a combo of Russian + another medal favorite the following round. IMO senior worlds is a much tougher road to medal than an Olympic medal when it comes to day-of competition in my mind. The sheer number of matches in each bracket + random draws, like Taylor/Yazdani round 1 in 2018, is absolutely nuts.
  8. To add, David Taylor exhibits the mindset of a champion: "I don't care where I am in the bracket because I'm going to win the whole f'ing thing."
  9. Why does it seem odd? Why should a person be rewarded for not competing for a calendar year? Would you give someone with a 0-0 record the #1 seed at NCAAs? How is this any different?
  10. All rankings tournaments are published months in advance. All competitors are aware of the seeding implications. It is their decision to either chase points or not.
  11. Correct, it doesn't mean too much but is enough to get you a 7 seed. That's why they have rankings tournaments throughout the year. If you don't go to the rankings tournaments then you drop in seeding.
  12. Pie charts of his favorite bars and bar charts of his favorite pies
  13. Imagine having to get yourself back up for another match after you just lost a world medal match. That's a brutal mental and physical tax.
  14. Key takeaways: Rivera is going to have a bad time if he makes it to the semis because Tumur Ocho is him Bajrang could play bracket buster as the 8 seed if he is healed up. He gets Iran then Musukaev and we know who's going to win the second period of that match Taylor and Yazdani are on opposite sides of the bracket thank god Top of 125 has Taha and Zare, bottom has Geno. I want to see Gable drawn into the top half wreaking havoc smashing all three of them. Time to put this Zare conversation to bed for good. It feels like wherever Russia gets randomly drawn in will instantly become the tougher side of that bracket at every weight but 125.

Don't worry Ramos you will always have a room and warm bed waiting for you at home
  17. We all vote. Sometimes what we vote for isn't selected. We have a social contract to abide by the winning side and we move on. We may not like it, but we accept it. Once we do not accept what the democracy has stated is when the social contract is broken. Don't break the social contract because you know what happens next and it sucks for all of us.
  18. Just because something does not go the way you expect it to does not mean it is partisan. I suppose the same is true about the Supreme Court, right? Yes I realize this isn't a checkmate moment but c'mon quit being so damn combative all the time. My Side vs Your Side is exactly what's wrong with this damn country. It's not teams.
  19. Ruth quietly and routinely prayed to the Porcelain God on weekend evenings until he met his maker. It was a revival convention held in the parking lot of a local fine dining restaurant and when they found him in a glassy eyed trance repeating himself in ancient tongues "Yo quiero Taco Bell. Live Más Nittany Lions"
  20. May I refer you to the official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with the article "Joseph Smith saw the Prophet Saw God and Jesus in First Vision" "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today numbers more than 14 million. Latter-day Saints revere Joseph Smith as a prophet, just as they revere biblical prophets such as Moses and Isaiah." So luckily you and I agree that it's a poophole loophole. No false commonwealth prophets!

  24. Loophole: Joseph Smith was just a man. But also a prophet. But also no false prophets.
