  1. These are pre-seeds, so can we expect the Teske situation to change?
  2. And, interestingly, that player never started a game at Iowa.
  3. Antonio Garay placed 4th in 2000, and then was a 6th round draft pick in 2003. A little over 20 years ago, and I can't think of any others since then .
  4. Iowa had two 1st round draft picks last year.
  5. You are wrong. Hut is a defensive lineman.
  6. Larry Langowski wrestled for Mexico in Beijing, it wasn't really a big deal for the Wildcat Wrestling Club.
  7. Yeah, I think many people called him lucky after his first title. But the second title elevated him to legendary gamer status.
  8. “This world has a lot of work to do on social injustice issues and that work is important on our campus and that work is important in our athletic department. And it’s important in our wrestling program. And it’s important to me. Diligence is high.” https://hawkfanatic.com/2022/02/09/tom-brands-issues-public-apology-to-wisconsin-wrestler-austin-gomez/
  9. doing hardly nothing to win means you are doing a lot to win
  10. Isn't that precisely why an asterisk should be used?
  11. Four timer* but if he bumps up and prevents a five timer he will be the second best 4xer in my book
  12. I've wondered for years why Robles didn't win the Hodge. He beat a returning (and future) Champ in the finals.
  13. Nick Ackerman is an inspiration, I am glad he won the Hodge. What he did borders on heroic.
  14. And what's interesting is the B1G received fewer total allocations in 2009 with the new weight class system of allocations. Funny stuff happened that year, like some weight classes in the Big XII were completely allocated and qualified before the conference tournament.
  15. At the time, I believe the B1G was allocated over a total of 70 qualifying spots. So, the B1G decided to make all top 7 placers in each weight class a NC qualifier. Then there were a few spots left over, so it was agreed that the remaining qualifiers would be voted on by the coaches from a pool of 8th place finishers. In 2008, Henning didn't make it to the 7th place match, so he wasn't eligible per B1G rules to be voted in as a qualifier. It wasn't an NCAA rule.
  16. Nope, it’s Askren 100%. It started long before Bono was the coach. It started when Barry Davis didn’t offer him enough of a scholarship.
  17. A multi-loss D3 guy won the Hodge. So I guess Hendrickson has a chance…
  18. Looks like a lot of them stick close to home. Makes sense, there are a ton of D1 opportunities relatively close to the Lehigh Valley.
