  1. Snyder wouldn't even need to win anything in 23 to beat Taylor (assuming Gold in 24 for Kyle and Golds in both 23 and 24 for Taylor). The hypothetical resumes would be: Snyder: 2X Olympic Gold, 1X Olympic Silver, 3X World Gold, 2X World Silver, 1X World Bronze Taylor: 2X Olympic Gold, 3 X World Gold, 1 X World Silver
  2. He's from Oak Park, which is absolutely not anywhere near the boonies. Unless the definition of boonies means an affluent community containing 25 Frank Lloyd Wright houses.
  3. The ability to make a good enough living to get married and raise a family while still competing has a lot to do with it.
  4. George Mehnert, Bruce Baumgartner, and John Smith all have two Olympic Golds, so they are on it. Of the four with Olympic Gold and Silver, Kyle Snyder, (with three World Golds, two Silvers, and one Bronze) breaks the tie with Kenny Monday (One World Gold and one Silver), John Peterson (World Silver and Bronze), and Ben Peterson (World Bronze). Special Mention goes to Rulon Gardner with one Olympic Gold, One Olympic Bronze, and one World Gold.
  5. His mom competed for the USA, do we know if she has dual citizenship? What are the requirements for someone like Spencer to be able to represent France?
  6. Very few are are cut out to be multi-time Olympic champs
  7. Didn't the whole family relocate to Iowa when Spencer went off to college? I agree, as a parent with a kid in college, there should be a balance between showing support and allowing independence.
  8. They are physically unable to hold the competitions. Their body simply will not allow it.
  9. They are both still affiliated with churches, per their website. I guess we can debate if being affiliated with a church means it is a religious school. I say yes.
  10. Davidson, Duke, Campbell, and Gardner-Webb are also religious schools with D1 wrestling.
  11. Wow, this is disapointing.
  12. I also think you have to ding Spencer for getting pinned twice whereas none of the other five suffered a similar fate. Snyder got pinned in the 2015 NCAA Finals.
  13. Wouldn't he see Coon in the quarterfinals? Admittedly, I am unfamiliar with how they draw these brackets.
  14. so 315 in December. What do you think he weighed when you reffed him a couple months ago, any lower?
  15. Does this mean we will get a Coon/Rulon matchup at 3/6, assuming they both win up to that point? I’m not familiar with how the brackets are constructed for the Open.
  16. Randy was up several weight classes for his comeback, was impressive to see him beat some good D3 wrestlers that day.
  17. This will be great fun to watch. I can't help but to root for him.
