    Lewis won the 20 and under Junior World Championship in 1977, it took place July 11-16. So he had graduated high school, but was not yet a collegiate wrestler.

    45 consecutive pins, OW at Junior Nationals, and a Junior World champion in high school: pretty good case for best high school wrestler from SD. But I guess it is subjective.

    After Davis was gone, part of me really wanted to see Askren get the head job. It would have been high risk/high reward. Regardless, it would have been a ride worth watching as an alum and fan. However, if I was an AD, I would never hire him. I give them credit for hiring him to be the RTC coach. That didn't work out, and gives us a good indication on how a head coaching gig would have ended up.

    Winning 25 straight vs 100 straight is easier if the relative competition is similar. But what if someone wins 25 straight against only the best competition vs 100 against some great and some not so great competition? Then the comparison gets muddier.
