  1. Iowa will definitely finish higher than 8th.
  2. The two Iowa "GOATS" from Spencer's talk show "GOAT Talk" will be the Grand Marshalls of Iowa's Homecoming Parade this year. A bit ironic given that Caitlin Clark is the (alleged) reason that some of the 26 University Iowa athletes, including 6 wrestlers, are suspended part or all of this upcoming season... Also ironic that both GOATs failed to win it all in their final and penultimate seasons (Spencer was famously pinned by Matt Ramos in the semifinals and the Iowa women's basketball team was trounced 102-85 by LSU in the finals).
  3. That would push their starting lineup from 70% transfers to 100%!
  4. Vito was so dominant that everyone would have to put him at the top of the list. Even a PSU homer like me. I dare say he would even beat Spencer Lee (healthy).
  5. Prime opportunity for the Hawkeye Wrestling Club to pony up the big bucks...
  6. Great for those schools college programs...conspicuously absent is anyone from Iowa. Has this happened before? It can't be great for Iowa and the HWC. Penn State: David Taylor (gold), Zain Retherford (gold), Nick Lee Cornell: Vito (gold), Dake Michigan: Parris (bronze), Micic, Amine (bronze)
  7. Is it obvious that he'd be a 4x NCAA champ or would it not fare that well?
  8. You state "Communication relys [sic] on clarity" - now let me point out (in bold) all the grammatical and spelling mistakes you've made while arguing the importance of semantics and clarity in communication. Calling someone stupid when you made close to a dozen spelling and grammatical mistakes in typing out 2 paragraphs is rich. Error log: 1. It's "semantics" not "semantica". 2. Semantics is a branch of linguistics. It's a single subject so "are" is incorrect. It should be "semantics is important". 3. "Relies" not "relys". 4. In America the adjective is "backward" not "backwards". 5. "Explained" not "explaned". 6. It's "welcher" not "welsher". 7. It's "capital letters" not "capitol letters". 8. "Uncle" not "Unele". 9. It's "Purposefully" not "Purosely".
  9. So you are saying you only wanted to ask about NCAA champs that were veterans BEFORE winning NCAA titles? If so, you need to correct a few other posters in this thread...because they are also citing wrestlers who served AFTER winning NCAA titles.
  10. So if the OP had asked about "U.S. Presidents who won spelling bees" you would only list people who were president first before winning a spelling bee?
  11. Semantics. OP can clarify but I doubt he intended to exclusively ask about NCAA champs who served BEFORE winning a title. Why would that matter?
  12. OP asked about military veterans who won NCAA titles. He didn't specify that they had to be enlisted before winning the title.
  13. Surprised no one has said Dean Heil or Jesse Delgado yet...
  14. As a Penn State fan, I think it has to be Kyle Dake - although hate is not really the right word. We certainly respect him and now he's a member of NLWC. But he always beat our golden boy DT and it was frustrating to see someone so good fail time and time again to beat Dake (except in fantasy matches). For Iowa is it Bo Nickal? Never lost to an Iowa guy and embarrassed many (pinned Sammy Brooks multiple times, including once via an almost pornographic spladle at Carver-Hawkeye).
  15. According to this 24/7 scouting report Keuter's NFL comparison is Leighton Vander Esch. https://247sports.com/Player/Ben-Kueter-46118691/ The Cowboys drafted Vander Esch in the 1st round, pick 19. His rookie deal was for 4 years, $11.84 million, fully guaranteed. He then signed another 2 year deal worth $8 million ($5 million guaranteed). So if the comparison is accurate and he has a career like Vander Esch (who has had injury problems which is why his extension is "only" for $8 million) he's still looking at about $15 million guaranteed. I'm guessing that would be about $14.5 million more than he would make lifetime if he stuck to collegiate/freestyle wrestling.
  16. I imagine he's equally passionate about football though.
  17. Ok, still at 3 years...a NFL player will have made MILLIONS more than even the best collegiate wrestler. The point is wrestlers get paid diddly and squat, even if they elite. You can be a NFL player no one has heard of and still make way more money.
  18. If he has even a smidgen of a chance to make the NFL (e.g. a chance at being drafted) it would be pretty stupid to focus on wrestling instead of football. A 7th round pick will make more money in a 5 year NFL career than a multiple time Hodge Trophy winner who goes on to win Olympic medals. Sad but true.
  19. Because it's more fun to claim that Cael can't coach...he just recruits all the best wrestlers who are already good
