  1. Look at this photo. Brooks at 184 is noticeably shorter than O'Toole 165, Starocci 174 and 6" shorter than Nino Bonacorris at 197. Parris may be close to a head taller than Brooks. O'Toole is listed at 6'0 so I estimate that Brooks is no taller than 5'10. A typical 197 pounder like Tanner Sloan is 6'2. Brooks is amazing and strength won't be a problem at 197 but I can't help but wonder if his lack of length will be an issue against the longer 197 pounders.
  2. Brooks has the toughest road assuming A.J. makes 197 for the Hawks.
  3. He talks too much about his faith and Jesus?
  4. https://newrepublic.com/post/176151/former-ohio-state-wrestlers-warn-jim-jordan-not-fit-speaker In other news Jim Jordan loses House nomination to Steve Scalise. Guess Trump doesn't have as much pull as he thought?
  5. He's a punter, so probably not. If he played QB it would be a different story. Look at Deshaun Watson for example....after everything happened the Browns gave him a guaranteed $250 million contract.
  6. He's a NCAA champion capable of delivering a team title to a team other than Penn State. That's why.
  7. Reading on Iowa and Penn State forums that Aaron Nagao may have injured an ACL in practice and may be out for the season. I'm super bummed if this is true.
  8. Call it a bit...it could legit happen unless I missed news that Gable was definitely not wrestling NCAAs this upcoming season.
  9. Can you imagine if Iowa trots out AJ at 197 and Gable at 285? I think that would actually push them to #1 over Penn State.
  10. AJ is a NCAA champ and has bulked up considerably while Cassioppi has lost weight (and lost more matches). I'll take AJ with Cassioppi probably transferring out.
  11. I feel so bad for Tony Cassioppi. What a rollercoaster of thinking your college career is over due to NCAA suspension, only to be reinstated, only to be supplanted by another Italian Stallion.
  12. Yes I'm aware, but I'm still slotting them in this hypothetical at 184,
  13. Entrants: Bo Nickal (4x NCAA finalist, 3x NCAA champ, Hodge winner) Ed Ruth (4x AA, 3x NCAA champ) Aaron Brooks (3x NCAA champ, potentially a 4x NCAA champ) Quentin Wright (4x AA, 3x NCAA finalist, 2x NCAA champ) How does this shake out in a round robin format? Bonus: how does Cael do if allowed at catchweight?
  14. Why is this so important to Trump's endorsement of Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House? "So much is learned from sports, and Jim was a master! While attending Graham High School, he won State Championships all four years, a rarity, and compiled an amazing 156-1 record. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Jim became a two-time NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion. He won his 1985-86 Championship Matches in his weight class."
  15. Yes, RBY improved since then. So has Gomez. Doesn't take away from the fact that Gomez was one of the few people skilled enough to beat RBY.
  16. How many people have beaten RBY in college? Beating a 2x NCAA champ means Gomez has a certain level of skill...doesn't matter that it happened a few seasons ago.
  17. With this development + the potential dropping of Iowa suspensions there is a real race for the team title this upcoming season. I still favor Penn State (as I'm a PSU homer) but I think Iowa and Michigan will be nipping at their heels. If Iowa can find a way to squeeze those 5 or 6 transfers into their lineup they will be all the better for it!
  18. Gomez pinned RBY. He's a title contender and very dangerous.
