  1. age level medalist qualifies you...and Facundo won a U20 gold https://gopsusports.com/news/2022/5/2/wrestling-alex-facundo-wins-2022-u20-freestyle-crown-named-o-w-in-las-vegas.aspx
  2. Exciting news! It will be fun to see Mesenbrink. The only issue is he is a smaller 165 pounder. I think Haines might actually be better suited for 165 in terms of frame.
  3. The meeting is required annually though. Did he miss them all 8 years he's been in college?
  4. I didn't watch the video. Is Tom mad that his wrestlers broke a NCAA rule, that they were caught, or that only 2 Iowa schools were caught by the Iowa authorities doing the investigation?
  5. The Lady Hawkeyes have been stacking their roster with #1 prospects, over and over. They will likely dominate their first season and as THE ONLY POWER 5 women's program they are going to become an instant dynasty. It's likely starting this year they will win the team title for the next several decades (assuming no other POWER 5 teams also field women's teams). So let's say the Lady Hawkeyes win the next 5-10 women's titles in a row. Meanwhile the Iowa men remain a solid team, finishing 2-4 for the next decade. Is it possible women's wrestling becomes BIGGER than men's at the University of Iowa?
  6. How did you become such a fan of the sport then?
  7. It doesn't make Minny a title contender. Gable won't be challenged and will easily win another HWT title. No one will blink if he does, but if he loses it will be like Spencer getting pinned by Ramos. Is he getting a huge NIL payment? If not, I can't imagine how it makes sense as an Olympic Champion and 2x NCAA champ and current WWE wrestler to come back to college. He could have at least joined Iowa and made the team race interesting. If anything coming back is, at best, a lateral move and more realistically, a demotion.
  8. They should reverse all penalties immediately.
  9. Looking at the rankings I think he is. #2 at the weight is Beau Bartlett who Woods had always beaten convincingly. Most other weights have multiple NCAA champs or a very good 2nd place guy (like Fix to Vito). Some might say Aaron Brooks but he's also jumping up to 197.
  10. https://gopsusports.com/sports/wrestling/roster?sort=position Of note: Aaron Nagao at 133 Mesenbrink listed at 157/165 (Haines at 157 and Facundo at 165) Penn State only has Kerk as a true HWT
  11. The surprising thing is that he said training at Penn State was easier than high school. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzEgKcquZyI/?hl=en
  12. If UFC offers him a big contract to do MMA it'll be worth a lot more than the prestige of being the first 5xer.
  13. How do you figure? He literally said it was his final year.
  14. To answer my own question Jeff Monson was only 4-3 in the UFC. Not really an impressive record. https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/jeff-monson-the-snowman
  15. What's the joke? It's based on frame size / height.
  16. Well it worked for Max for 1 year. The next year he struggled and I think his lack of length was a factor.
  17. Based on frame 174 Brooks 184 Starocci 197 Truax would make the most sense.
  18. A more direct comparison: Brooks side by side with A.J. Ferrari. Even putting asside the hair A.J. has at least 2" on Brooks.
