  1. Not sure I would call Ashnault’s move a toss. More of a Dake style work up to a body lock and then rolled the guy under him. Cool. Immediately super stuck pin. Now, since we are talking about getting tossed … Ashnault got nicely tossed earlier in the period for 4 on the edge. Ukrainian hit a beautiful arm throw. Thought he stepped out before executing it but no review.
  2. Then we need a new name. It is NOT a wrestle off. It is …. not sure. Hmmmm, how about this, an Evaluation Match.
  3. Don’t feel bad for the the ones openly displaying support for the invasion of Ukraine and the murder of its citizens. One way of showing that support is by making it clear that they are a Putin fan.
  4. Keep the updates coming! Thank you! Is Maryland no longer going to be the doormat of the big 10?
  5. Anyone have a link to an English overview of the matches and results?
  6. Just watched Iowa’s Bennet clearly and obviously drag Army’s Sanchez OOB while riding on top. Called action by ref. B S Bennett drove the action OOB to avoid a potential scoring action. Text book stalling. CALL IT!
  7. So, you would do it? I like farts odds in this described environment.
  8. Looks like this will be on ESPN+
  9. It is simply a final ranking, taking into account world championships, based on number of points earned. Done, simple, easy. Crazy how hard this was to figure out.
  10. I think for Olympic Redshirt --- you know the year, if you want to skip NCAAs that year to go for Olympics ... there you go. You have that option. For Medical - well, you are rolling the dice. You can take your redshirt now, but if you get hurt next year, sorry. You only get so many shots. Choose wisely. At which point, you move along.
  11. This will sound like I'm quibbling ... but generational talent? How many generational talents have been popping up the past 10 years? I'm guessing more than just Forrest. Spencer Lee? Gable Steveson? Yianni D? Kyle Snyder? I bet we can add more. Not sure the term 'generational talent' is right. Unless generations are all of 1 year long. But even so ... there are some other super high schoolers right now.
  12. Making a new thread since I think this would get lost in the other 'eliminate redshirts' thread. Willie, on his podcast, put forward the idea of letting wrestlers have 5 years of competition available, but only 4 chances to compete in post season (conference tourney and NCAA championships). No medicals, no Olympic redshirts. Clean. Simple. Lets teams pick whoever they want during regular season to put out in duals, opens .. and settle in on the right person to put into post season. I'm still in the camp of 4 years to compete, 4 post seasons. It is even simpler! More guys get more scholarship money. Blah blah blah, I don't need to rehash. But if you feel that some folks need that first year to phase in. Or would like to hold a 'redshirt' in the bag in case of an injury ... this is clean. Would be a step in right direction. And I like the idea of removing the weird situation that the kid can't compete attached. And I love the idea of no more of this 6/7 year of eligibility crap. Thoughts?
  13. It isn’t a boast. He is making it clear that that he is an upgrade.
  14. Thank you!! Great color and sense for things. Appreciate it. If went, would likely be meeting up with friend who is also a big fan - he would fly in from Singapore. We’d have to make sure it will be worth it for both of us. Want a good vibe and experience in the city, on top of the wrestling. Will need to do some research. But if the people are good, food is good, English is not rare, and the beer is good and cheap, that goes a long way.
  15. Thanks for that. I don’t know Bucharest. I’ve been to Budapest - which I really enjoyed. Have you been? If so, how would it compare?
  16. Instagram just told me that Belgrade will be the 2023 host. A repeat. For anyone that went - would love to hear if it is an awesome place to go. Was hoping for Istanbul.
  17. Keegan O’Toole results make it look like he is in a path of destruction. TF, Pin, Pin to win the Tiger Style invite. Final pin was against Dan Braunagel of IL. (Ranked 21 in Intermat) Edmond Ruth (wow, that has to be confusing … Ed Ruth) of IL beat Peyton Mocco 7-5 … a decent upset.
  18. VT loses dual vs Ohio State … but kinda won too. Latona beats the newly anointed Mendez. Big news. Bigger news … Caleb Henson takes out Sammy Sasso in OT. Got two nice TDs on a guy who is hard to takedown. Spent a lot of time on Sammy’s legs.
  19. Start with some Bearcat highlights High school standout Meyer Shapiro won the Bearcat open at 149 with relative ease. Most notable win was Sam Hillegas - formerly VT but now at WVU. Peyton Hall (also WVU) pinned Cornell’s Julian Ramirez in the finals of the Bearcat. Was the end result of a ridiculous scramble. Ramirez was in a bad situation through most of scramble but did his best to not give up a takedown - resulted in getting pinned. Sometimes you have to know your situation sucks. Giving up the TD is better than TD and backs . Or the pin. Stevo Poulin (NCO) of YouTube fame was the champion at 125! Pinned HS phenom Liledahl after being up 6-0 in the semi. Jax Forrest, another HS star, took out Cornell’s Ungar in consi semi. Finished third. Ungar beat his teammate LaJoie 14-2. Figure he is Cornell’s 125 .. no? Cornell’s Fernandez was the champ at 133. Looks like some depth behind Vito. Cornella of Cornell was the champ. Made easy work of it outside the first match vs Penn State’s David Evans. They didn’t do true third. Semi losers wrestled. I bet this Evan fellow was the second best there although he finished 5th. Penn state has done well with him. Cornell’s heavy - Fernandez won a match and the forfeited out. Hmmmm.
  20. They are worried about the company they keep
  21. Did he get hit for unsportsmanlike conduct?
