Just rewatched the match Yianni pretty clearly drives his own forehead hard into the mat on his takedown from elevation. He immediately holds his forehead after and is very slow returning to his feet. That he got slower and more sluggish as the match went on points to concussion to me. Hopefully not, but that is what worries me.
If he is even slightly concussed I hope his team realizes this is unimportant and does not risk further injury.
1 second of riding time difference is absurd given how imprecisely the end of riding time is determined. It is like dragging out the chains to impose a phony perception of precision in footballl games. There are so many sources of measurement error but we will just pretend them away and use an index card between the ball and stick to decide first down. Theater.
Yep, need to write a few wrongs after that one. So here goes.
I was wrong, wrong, wrong. But it is a rite of passage to get write and right both wrong and right, as well as to, too.
I think that is only a consideration for Starocci and Brooks, and I think they are fairly confident they will earn the spot at the conference tournament.
I wasn't even thinking about it in terms of fairness. I was thinking that it is counter productive to USAW goals. If they want to earn medals at the Olympics and World Championships it makes sense to work on better seeds wherever possible (see Rivera, Sebastian). But having this challenge process discourages attendance at ranking events as Diakomihalis and Lee have had to prepare for this instead.
Without knowing who they send out it is almost impossible to bet the over. PSU has a habit of sending out back ups at ramdom weights for whatever reason. Rest, illness, injury, etc.
