This. If it moved to April 12, then we could just move the OTT to late March and have our Olympic Team member qualify the weight for the Olympics instead of the previous year world team member or previous medalists who challenges for a wrestle off. I just don't like that the Olympic Team member only earns the right to go to Last Chance Qualifier

USAW did a great job this year adding the ability for previous medalists to challenge for the spot to go to Pan Ams. Timing for team trials has been the same for a while, but maybe after 2 Olympics in a row where we have to compete at the Last Chance Qualifier(2 this year, 1 in 2021), maybe we should change up the timing of our process. It would be a big disadvantage to the college guys if the OTT occurred during the NCAA season, but that is what Olympic redshirts are for. Sure, maybe the OG continental's should occur later in the year, but they don't. And sure, maybe we don't want to decide our rep 7 months before Olympics, but Pan Ams is 5 months before the Olympics. Should we consider moving OTT to a month prior to Pan Am OG qualifier during Olympic years? I am undecided, but I think it should be discussed

Yeah this might not be as damning as I originally thought. However, when you get a new coach 6 years ago with high expectation, you want to measure that and see interest from your in-state studs. Tom Ryan got the job and immediately landed a series of 4x state champions. Granted they got 2nd at NCAAs in his second and third year, so that helped with recruiting. I can't remember how early in high school Steiber committed to tOSU. I think it was an early verbal.

District XI Wrestlers in NCAA Division 1

Super impressed. You stated all this in a great way too. Compare these numbers to where most of us live. It's wild. Someone else from another hotspot should chime in or create a new thread about dense areas -
Bono since 2020 has landed 10 kids off Flo's Big Board. Only 2 are from Wisconsin - Nicolar River and Wyatt Ingraham. Wisconsin as a state has had 20 kids on the Big Board since 2020. Of the highest ranked kids in those years, five of the six kids have been from AWA - Keegan O'Toole, Aeoden Sinclair, Connor Mirasola, Mitchell Mesenbrink, Cole Mirasola(Koy Hopke is the sixth). I am not from Wisconsin and I do not follow high school close enough to recognize more than 10 kids off the Big Board each year. These are Bono's biggest recruits: Year Rank Name 2020 1 Braxton Amos 2021 6 Dean Hamiti 2021 32 Hayden Copass 2022 61 Nicolar Rivera 2022 21 James Rowley 2022 70 Brock Bobzien 2023 39 Lucas Condon 2024 16 Dillan Johnson 2024 69 Colin Kelly 2024 51 Wyatt Ingham

Who do we attribute the count from top? There is probably someone else, but Delgado would go down to a single leg from top and rack up riding time.

Hillger, Barnett, Wick, Hamiti, Gomez. Wick was already there. Hillger was already there. Gross followed him and would have done well if the tournament occurred. Gomez was a transfer recruit. Barnett and Hamiti are the only AA's he recruited out of high school since he took over for the 2019 season.

That is not just one throw. Gonna need some size or some weapons to take on a college wrestler. I think I saw something from Mineo about defending somebody, so who knows what type of toxic situation he walked into/put himself in.

40 matches a year will never happen again. We are 7 weeks out from Big Tens and Penn State has 8 more dual meets on their schedule. Mitchell Messenbrink has the most matches of any Penn State guy with 11 matches so far this year(7 matches at opens) Starocci and Brooks dealt with the 2021 lightened schedule year that in turn changed the way coaches schedule their seasons forever.
-
I have heard the idea about doing Dual Championship in first semester. I am unsure of this because then what is on the schedule to maintain fan interest in January and February? Teams do not want to do very many tournaments, especially later in the season. I think you do a Dual Championship in the first two weekends of February. There is a two week break, and then conference tournaments. But how do you determine the top 16(it should be 16, so 4 duals to win it all)? It is not super simple.

This is incorrect. I am a dummy. I will think longer and harder before posting again

Poll: Which freshman is most likely to win a title?
juniorvarsity replied to peanut's topic in College Wrestling
None of them. 157 does not have a strong enough front-runner, so I went Meyer Shapiro. -
Am I ***I am an idiot and can't use a better adjective***ed or did OP start off by calling Jason Bryant to be fired over not reeling in the creeps and by the end of the manifesto, OP called it a lynch mob going after the creeps. I do not understand. Also, I think literally anyone can submit a nomination for Photographer of the Year.

You guys need to stop talking about Congress and the first amendment. We are the wrestling community. We cannot change the law fast enough. Get this man on the Permanently Ineligible USA Wrestling Member List. Once he is there, that can be used as reason to kick him out of all other tournaments not associated with USA Wrestling by tournament directors. https://www.themat.com/membership/ineligible-members

Their Twitter account does a good job with a thread for every match their guys wrestle. Other programs should tweet in the way they do. USA wrestling does a good job posting match threads in the same fashion.
