  1. I don’t see a court date coming up soon?
  2. Where in the hell did I state, or even imply that? Someone’s frustration with me in another unrelated thread has carried over to a topic I haven’t even opined on Get some rest.
  3. Maybe someone who knows someone else knew had a direct conversation with that someone else, told them, and therefore knew they knew?
  4. I don’t know how good of a tool that is, in a lot of areas where both styles are very popular, internet is not as accessible, nor is the time available to watch YouTube. All that aside, there is going to be a very heavy American skew of the numbers in terms of where the views are coming from.
  5. The information is available. Fair question, what numbers have you seen on an international/world level scale that have had you convinced otherwise?
  6. So what about those numbers at international events that are not world championships. What about numbers at different nations national events. Tournaments specifically not the world championships have been referenced as well. Isn’t that all indicative? Those numbers are available.
  7. My posting of the picture was more for those who are not defending Hamas but being ‘attacked’ (probably poor choice of word here) as if they are.
  8. Unfortunately there are some victims who have directly said yes he absolutely knew.
  9. Just out of curiosity, what would be convincing if overall participation numbers is not?
  10. So let’s clear this up all nice and simple clear. You agree that it’s at least quite possible that there are a good number of people who their opinion on this is NOT based on Jim Jordan’s politics. Nobody is arguing with you that there are people that are politically bias and that is the base of their opinion, it’s your continuing insinuation that the only reason anyone around here could have a negative opinion toward Jordan on this is politics, that is directly false. Likewise, nobody said you blamed the victims. Creating accusations to then ‘have to’ defend against does not help your cause.
  11. Saw this and thought it was very profound, and worthwhile to share here….
  12. Also read blogger talking about last worlds he was at, ‘19 which also was the last worlds/Olympics without and international crisis…..Greco ticket sales sold out prior to the event, FS tickets were available at the door. Small anecdote, but does say something. Edit to acknowledge it could also be bullshit. I personally haven’t seen those numbers.
  13. Have to agree to disagree with you there, don’t really want to go search copy and paste etc. Historically, popularity in Iran for Greco has not matched Freestyle, very much true. However Iran has made an investment into Greco relatively recently, their success is way up as is it’s popularity in the country. FS/GR is very regional in russia. I guess one could look at historical entry numbers in Russian nationals and see where they fall. As a collective whole, world wide….there is plenty of good ‘argument’ out there of its level of popularity. Don’t really know what else to say without taking the time to link it for you.
  14. I agree with pretty much all of this, but I personally apply an asterisks. The Russian government, military, and Olympic federation are all closely tied and intertwined with one another. To add to that, that relationship has a long history of…..basically going directly against the will and spirit of the Olympic charter, in whatever manner they deem fit. If this were one isolated incident, and didn’t include that long history, what you’ve said above would be everything for me personally. But unfortunately that couldn’t be further from the case.
  15. That is a good point. To add to it, in many cases what they are told is going on in the world and what is actually going on in the world are two completely different things. Here we at least have the option of which bullshit stories we want to believe. There, in many many cases (especially in areas where the best combat athletes come from) they get one story and one story only.
  16. Honest question, I'm curious. Where do you get the information that Sidakov is hard core Z. I haven't really been able to find much on athlete's affiliation.
  17. Conflicted on this, as I'm sure are many. On one hand they have to be dealt with, on the other we want the best of the best....
  18. I understand your point clearly. You stated it very clearly. No one on here has any clue whatsoever what went on, all they know is what they read online, and they are just spouting because they don't like Jim Jordan. Am I clear on your point?
  19. You first have to take off the folkstyle hammered USA glasses.... What's one thing we talk about alot over here on this side of the pond, in disappointment? Tweeners. Guys that have really good skills and talents but their bodies are in between optimal sizes to compete at their highest level. So we have the Zain's, etc of the nation who only have the option of changing their body, during their bodies peak development time, every year or couple years because their skills don't leave them other options. Now let's move on to the rest of the world, where both international styles largely hold equal value, in fact in many areas greco holding a higher value. Those populations are largely proficient in both styles, because that's what they have been doing their whole life. And when they reach maturity, they have styles to choose from based on what their body is, not the other way around. From a world perspective, different weight classes give more individuals the opportunity to compete at their highest level. From a US perspective, different weight classes is pretty much irrelevant because we alienated greco at the grassroots level. And when we did, we cut our medal count potential each year basically in half.
  20. You are correct. I selectively picked the point of topic I was on, I did not include bitching about the whole post just to bitch. You got me
  21. Because that part of your post was the only one relative to my point, which is that Americans opinion of Greco is not that of the world. It’s not like I was trying to hide what you said. It’s there in print for everyone to see If I were just ‘bitching to bitch” (I don’t know what whinging means) I would have continued on to talk about how you obviously have no understanding why different weights in Greco and freestyle makes perfect sense (from a world perspective, not a US folkstyle perspective), but that’s not my point here. Was Trying to keep it on point….
  22. The thinking that the US mandates wrestling around the world is thick in here: I will say again, the world does not revolve around the USA’s high school and college schedule. Is it UWW’s recent move to put Greco as the last event so it is the weekend highlight at world/continental events that led you to believe this….or is it that USA isn’t medaling so it’s probably on its way out?
  23. My point being, you’re entire riff is that “you..me…everyone” just make opinions based on their political bias, when you don’t know anything about anyone in that equation outside of you. Just because you don’t know anymore than what is in an article, doesn’t mean that’s the case for everyone. In other words, don’t do the very thing that seems to upset you so.
  24. So are you saying everyone who has an opinion on the matter, their opinion is based on politics? You are clumping everyone into an ‘read an article’ group Is it possible those victims have friends and relatives? And being we are talking about wrestlers, it is possible maybe some of those friends and relatives are in the wrestling world? And maybe, some people base their opinions on direct conversations with the victims. Maybe it’s based on seeing the therapeutic exercises some of these victims still practice, regularly. Maybe do some the opinion comes from it’s knowing the victims and hearing/seeing directly what they’ve been through…..or maybe you’re right it’s just everyone is basing their opinion on an article and/or how he votes in Congress. I don’t know.
