  1. On the plus side - there is plenty of capacity for flights and accommodation as well as places to host the tournament from an arena perspective. That's pretty much it though
  2. Just my opinion but here goes 1. Very expensive hotels 2. Many dangerous neighborhoods 3. Cultural incompatibility with that of the college wrestling zeitgeist 4. Homelessness/mental illness is everpresent 5. Very little interest in wrestling among locals. Many prominent athletic high schools in the region do not even have a team. 6. Expensive flights for the majority of schools which are based east coast and Central primarily. 7. Lack of public transportation 8. City is extremely spread out and difficult to navigate 9. Although Los Angeles doesn't have full seasons, March is typically overcast and somewhat unpleasant
  3. I live here and I don't think it would be a good choice
  4. I recommend Hashem for a great meal outdoors for very cheap https://maps.app.goo.gl/M6WntvnRe51ZsWsw6
  5. Someone posted the home attendance stats last year and Clarion was bottom of the barrel. It's a shame because that part of PA is rich in wrestling history and has plenty of fan interest. It's just a very low population there and you have a lot of colleges in PA with wrestling all offering state tuition. Penn State gobbling up most of the big fish. As a coach, it's a tough predicament but as a fan even tougher. If the coach succeeds under such hostile circumstances, he is paid more by a bigger program. And then what as a fan? NDSU right now as a prime example
  6. For their potential lineup next year all these guys are transfers. They did lose the All-American Will Feldkamp to Iowa State, but they also gained him through the portal in the first place from Northern Illinois. 133: Varndell from Edinboro 141: Sullivan from West Virginia 157: Alejando Herrera Rondon from Oklahoma 165: Cameron Pine from Campbell 285: John Meyers from Seton Hill Couple years ago there was Brent Moore from Virginia Tech and notably lost grad transfer Bulsak to Rutgers where he became AA for them.
  7. FloArena will be submitted to one of the following: Firing squad Lethal injection Public hanging
  8. So Anthony Echemendia has been training with Cyclone RTC for some time and the boys on the Cyclone Fanatic page are speculating as to whether he will eventually rejoin NCAA wrestling at Iowa State
  9. This JJ McComas looks like one to keep an eye on for the Cowboys perhaps
  10. I was just kicking around wrestlestat and saw him listed on the 141 rankings with a new team listed and it caught my eye. Didn't see this on social media anywhere.
  11. Logan Messer of George Washington is listed as a redshirt this year. Started as a true freshman and sophomore racking up a record of 50-18. Junior year academically will be his redshirt year. Not sure on the rationale by looking at their roster.
  12. Amman was one of my favorite cities I've been to. Great people, better food, sightseeing, culture. Lots to do
  13. "When GameStop acquired Electronics Boutique in 2005, it was Gregory Elinsky who served as Electronics Boutique's advisor. The deal was valued at $1.4 billion." https://gregoryelinsky.weebly.com/
  14. Love this beer and I used to live near the Fuller brewery in southwest London. Rode by each morning to the smell of toasted grains.
  15. Ryan Sullivan, who served his redshirt year as a Pitt Panther before becoming a national qualifer for West Virginia in 2021 - has resurfaced as the heir apparent at 141 for the Clarion Golden Eagles
  16. Looking back, I kind of doubt that. Matt Kolodzik at 149 with a great chance to AA
  17. Would be funny if all this time Cael was posting as JimmyCinnabon
  18. https://www.nationalprepwrestling.org/ncaa-all-americans Looks like it goes back to 1998
  19. As far as I can tell, he was their only all-american this year (correct me if I'm wrong) and Blair has had a streak of consecutive years with All Americans going back several decades
