  1. 4-5 years of watching most of BA’s matches
  2. VT and Cornell have a dual this season, like most seasons so they’ll scrap again prior to March. I’m not discounting Shapiro’s skills at all, but I think the next match will be significantly closer.
  3. How so? white flag is indicative of surrender. Even in Andonian’s loss, he was bringing it against an opponent that’ll be a legit natty title contender after this weekend
  4. VT fan here with zero inside info but the vt board mentioned awhile back he’s been battling a minor injury. Me personally, I think it’s the weight cut
  5. Do you have to now create an account just to view the flo website?
  6. I’m a vt fan but appreciate watching a talented wrestler. I look forward to seeing him scrap
  7. There’s some hammers he’ll have to beat to get to the semis but so far, he’s looking dominant and improved over last year’s true freshman performance. Andonian catches Shapiro early. That oughta be interesting if Shapiro lives up to the hype. VT and Cornell have a dual too so these guys might wrestle at least 3 times this year
  8. Flo’s projections are interesting for 149-174. All seem plausible but it’ll be interesting to see how it shakes out. They have Henson winning 149. He’ll have to take out Parco in the semis. They have very similar styles and it’ll be a great match
  9. He is. I’ve seen him interacting with a lot of the young fans. He’s a very genuine person
  10. Oh, you are talking about his style. That’s legit. I thought you were talking his personality, which would have been way off base. He’s probably the nicest D1 wrestler there is
  11. That’s interesting. I have never heard any negative comments about Lewis.
  12. On a flo interview, staocci said Lewis didn’t want to wrestle. Carter is a punk
  13. VT shot way many more shots than Rutgers. Does either team keep stats? Just guessing it was a 3:1 ratio in VT’s favor
  14. The rumor/speculation is injury but based off watching his matches, it could be an illness. I didn’t notice any mobility issues or other physical concerns. An illness and first few times making weight is a tough ask but part of the sport. We will see how he look’s tomorrow night.
  15. Wrestle stat has this as a Rutgers win 20-14 or so. It sounds like 125 will be a swing match and Eddie has his hands full if he’s still hurt
  16. The buckeyes put it on us tonight. That was an old fashion butt whippin. I haven’t missed many home duals in the last 15 years but this one was mostly one sided. VT had a special announcement for Sammy Sasso and he got a standing ovation. I got there just prior to the start and sat on the visitor side. Kharch’s dad, I assume was pi$$ed. He stormed out of the stand after his loss and it sounded like he hit a blast double on the trash can on his way out
  17. VT’s IG account has each hokie’s walkout song and BA is listed. Things could change but for the hokie fans, and wrestling fans in general minus the buckeyes, sounds like BA is a go. Buckle up and don’t blink if he does go
  18. Hopefully that’s just a bad rumor. True freshman Hipolito likely would get the start over Ulrey.
  19. This is going to be a great first dual for both teams. Last year’s dual was a good one in Ohio where VT won and Henson, as a true freshman beat Sasso. Flo predicted a 19-12 win for the Hokies Just an fyi. Sasso has a younger brother who use a true freshman at VT and will likely redshirt at 197 but coach Robie did say he might get some dual starts this year
  20. Vito probably has the toughest chance to repeat. Dude is an animal and lightning fast. However, Sam Latona has the same build and shown he can beat him. I watched the match in person and it was quite impressive. Vito got revenge when it mattered but Sam kept it close and wasn’t blown away
  21. He looks jacked! He looks like a bonafide 165 guy in that pic and noticeably more muscular than last year. Even at 165, I’d pencil him as a natty title contender. Ed Scott likely highly approves BA’s move to 165. I’d be interested to see if Brady could handle the move to 174 if Lewis bumps up. If Crook packed on muscle like BA this summer, he’d likely beat Ulrey for the spot. The kid is good.
  22. Can crook still make 141? The VT board chatter seems to indicate he may have outgrown that weight class. Later in the season, he seemed to fade with gas tank issues. He’s a shooter and fun to watch. I knew he was going be a good one when I watched him at the SE open last year and he beat the Columbia kid pretty convincingly. I had heard mehki might go 184. If true, that’d be interesting who slots at 174.
  23. Trent Hilday. Hate isn’t the right word but definitely not liked. The tongue wagging while raising roof is childish. His brother is a class act
  24. As much as I hate to see him consider other jobs, VT’s Frayer should be a great candidate. Current associate coach with notable FS development in athletes plus being a former Olympic wrestler himself. The VT guys love Frayer. He seems to be a better man, husband and father than a coach and that’s saying something
