  1. I think him being ranked #4 is a joke, personally. He should for sure be higher than Henson, but I would also argue he should be higher seed than Sasso. Sasso has lost to two true freshman this year. Are we going on history, or current? Parco will beat Henson too....IF Yianni does not go, I am calling Parco vs Millner final. Millner wins it. 1) Millner, 2) Parco, 3) Sasso 4) Henson
  2. 149 #3 Yianni Diakomihalis ( #4 Cornell ) #4 Sammy Sasso ( #3 Ohio State ) #5 Caleb Henson ( #6 Virginia Tech ) #6 John Millner ( #49 Appalachian State ) #7 Kyle Parco ( #9 Arizona State ) #12 Yahya Thomas ( #15 Northwestern ) #14 Dominick Demas ( #27 Cal Poly ) #16 Jackson Arrington ( #10 North Carolina State ) #17 Colin Realbuto ( #25 Northern Iowa ) #22 Chance Lamer ( #8 Michigan )
  3. Whhheeeww, good to know. lol
  4. Teske only wrestled once right? But I did not know all of the others, thank you.
  5. I am ASSuming the knee surgeries? He has not competed yet, they have let some others fill in for him.
  6. Are the Iowa guys beat up already? Why are they missing these matches? Is Brands just taking advantage of the new RS rule? I mean, I know why Lee is out, but why the rest of them?
  7. 165 is DEEP, it will be a fun weight to watch for sure. Personally I am pulling for O'Toole to win it, Carr being my second choice.
  8. Jan 6th and 7th. You ought to if you are around. The tourney is a blind draw, which makes it even more interesting.
  9. For the first time in years, we will have some football kids coming out. We will not be as good as we have been in the past, so the new coaches had to go find some bodies. Football guys are a little more open to it, because they are told it will help them get better at football. Kids in general, I think other kids in wrestling talking to them, is the best. Kids can understand other kids, and will take what they say to heart more than an adult (IMO). Anywhere I go, I try to tell anyone that will listen, you may never achieve everything you want in the sport, but one thing I can guarantee it will bring: Life is a little easier when you build a work ethic that wrestling brings, life can still be tough don't get be wrong, but you will understand adversity after you wrestle. Tough sport, not a popular sport. I have told my kids since day one, you have to do this for you, and set your goals for you. When you go to a dual, it will be mom, dad, and grandparents...it will not be a sell out (at least where we are from)...so it has to be for you. Gosh dang I love this sport! nothing better.
  10. Geary tourney will be fire if the same teams come as last year. There will be a lot of nationally ranked match ups...Stillwater, Edmond North and Bixby will be there. There will be other studs from other schools there as well....should be good.
  11. not a dedicated source, no. Oklahoma does a poor job in general covering the sport, IMO. I do not think there is any mention in any of the main newspapers about Oklahoma having this many top ranked teams, or kids. In other words, owrestle is the best and maybe the only source...sorry for the confusion.
  12. either prediction or whatever, Millner will finish higher than Henson IMO. Henson is a stud, not taking anything away from him...but again, if Millner stays healthy, I like him making a run.
  13. Yes, this will prolly be the best info for Oklahoma wrestling.
  14. Since Aliruz won, you are correct. On paper, that was a worse opponent but turns out that 141 is wide open. Keckeisen surprisingly got dominated as well. I thought that would be a better match.
  15. He cannot be that bad, he was an AA as a true freshman. I also think it was more about style match up vs rankings. They both scramble, so I think they were hoping to see a scramble fest, and it ended being domination. I won't argue that there could have been a better opponent picked...but again, I think the thought was an action packed match.
  16. Why? Millner has done nothing but win. He just won the Keystone, beat the Penn kid who beat Henson. Millner is a 2xAA and only getting better. We can take some wagers when NCAA's roll around. Millner is tough as hell, and will be a problem if he can stay healthy. Parco is better than Zapf IMO
  17. O'Toole DOMINATED. Elam looked really, really good. 141 is wide open this year, Woods might be the favorite??
  18. Tons of cool stuff to do down by the BOK. Lots of places to have a beer, and good places to eat. I am not sure on the dates, I believe it is the Wednesday before NCAA's, they will be having some high school all star matches. They will be held across the street from BOK at the Cox Center. Again, not sure on the date or who will be wrestling in it, but this is what I was told. When I get more details, I will post them.
  19. This year will be fun to watch in Oklahoma. Stillwater will be the real deal, with Edmond North and Bixby battling for 2nd place. All 3 nationally ranked, with Tuttle in there as well.
  20. I wonder if Dake leaving had anything to do with Gibson bros leaving?
