  1. Exactly lol They're doing this stuff for attention Bo is probably bored waiting for his next moment in the spotlight
  2. For me the line is crossed when as a fan you feel entitled to certain results, damn the context. It'd be different if he just dropped out after losing, 100% healthy just butthurt.
  3. No way. Lower the matches required to zero. That way the athletes can be completely fresh. In all seriousness I know this is a hot take but a seedless tournament would be so fascinating to watch.
  4. Folks should cut Spencer Lee some slack. He was majorly hurt and probably shouldn't have competed in the tourney at all but he gave it a shot. Leaving the tournament doesn't "define his career" unless you didn't actually watch the guy wrestle over those 4 years. He was an absolute stud top to bottom and a real joy to watch.
  5. Just wading in on Fix, there's a lot that gets repeated about him... IMO some if it has merit, some of it doesn't. Freezes up in big matches against elite wrestlers, yes. Hasn't improved, no. Don't need to list out the reasons but I've watched probably 99% of his matches since he was a redshirt freshman and I definitely don't see him bailing if he doesn't make the finals. Spot on about a lack of progress from the OKState wrestling room in the last few years. Hopefully that's turning around with Coleman Scott, NIL/RTC rolling, other coaching changes. Coach Smith got a little too stuck in the past there for a bit but seems to have let go.
  6. Thanks for sharing! Do you know where results are for Sunday's competition? I'm looking around and not finding anything.
  7. Ankle bands - Leave the ankle bands alone. That's far from a problem. Let teams wear the singlets they want to wear. Have extra ankle bands at tournaments so wrestlers can put them on before their match. Push out point - good point about letting the bottom man go on the edge and negating the escape point. Make it only applicable when in neutral for at least like 3 seconds to give bottom man opportunities to circle. Losing a point for a lost challenge - okay with this if a 3rd party reviews the calls. I'd rather see a time limit on footage review first. Shot clock - I like the idea but it's so subjective. We need refs to have less influence over matches IMO not more. Put both wrestlers on the shot clock and then give double stall calls if nobody scores. Criteria - again its more ref influence over matches which I'm not a fan of. Headgear - let's require helmets instead. lol
  8. A coach/AD would be delusional to take AJ. He is a toddler with muscles and a Dad that wants to beat you up.
  9. It's just a problem with podcasts in general. When you make yourself do them on a set schedule they tend to move towards "welp we better fill the time" and away from "damn I am so excited to talk about this stuff"
  10. A Brands brother finding something to be mad about? Say it ain't so For a long time Iowa and Oklahoma State were the top dawgs in college wrestling. No surprise a rivalry started.
  11. Yeah it’s a lot of hassle to get one stud wrestler in Angelo. The dad has this weird “I’m an alpha male loon at me” vibe. If he wasn’t a wrestling dad he’d probably be protesting women’s rights or selling energy drinks lol
  12. Askren has an ego the size of Missouri. No way he coaches under somebody. He'll even struggle with university administration, I guarantee it. Camps and stuff work for him because he's the boss. Was going to suggest Oregon State but y'all beat me to it lol
  13. Exactly. Tough cut, content with his natural abilities, who knows. Though with all the shakeup at OU I bet he could go up a weight if he wanted. 184 isn't a strong weight for OU.
  14. I wonder what happened with Tate Picklo. Tons of potential out of high school, cracked the D1 top #15 right away, has a funky style that's fun to watch and his limbs are made of rubber. But he didn't really progress and his body language on the mat was pretty poor. Williams McDougal will be a good rematch... last meeting Williams did a stupid back flip that could have broken his neck.
  15. I'm not about banning people but Jimmy's return should have stipulations. Such as only starting 1-2 threads a week. Recently the guy posted something like 8-10 threads in 7 days, some not even about wrestling, and most about how great PSU is. It's annoying. Even if he posted nonstop praise about my team that often I'd be annoyed.
  16. Exactly. AJ has quadrupled down on showing everyone he's a problem child, and most people don't want that around.
  17. That's exactly the point, right? Humans are sort of programmed to want to believe in something, yet there's countless ways this belief takes place. So maybe we should just accept everyone's particular beliefs in divinity-or-not and move on. There are much better things to fight about, like a Dual Championship or whether Travis Kelce was being rude to his coach.

Hendselman #16 rankings by Wrestlestat 2 pm central time, ESPN+ If the Cowboys win Sunday, OSU’s 2024 class would become the sixth straight set of seniors to have never lost to OU in their careers and it would be the 18th Bedlam win in a row. Regardless of rankings it's always a great dual - spicy competition and packed house!
  19. Wait until you guys hear that God is more of a life force than some mystical being in the sky, and that Jesus wanted us to emulate him rather than worship him. We might just keep this thread going indefinitely!
  20. Amen Most divisiveness happens on your phone/computer too. Set the screen down and it’s amazing how alike we are.
  21. Haha he does! Great way to describe it. I'm really excited to see what he turns into if he commits to the lifestyle, gets comfortable with the weight, gets familiar with how the competition reacts to his shots, etc. I get the feeling he's just never had to think about a lot of that stuff before and now there's a whole new level of understanding and analysis that he's been doing on autopilot with great success. Crazy potential with that guy!
  22. Yeah it's pretty wild! Wicked fast
  23. It's a combination of factors. Several new faces in the lineup, a couple of veterans growing into their weights, Coleman as coach (if you watch the duals he's got a notepad and is making notes), Caldwell promoted to coach, RTC and NIL started rolling this past offseason, changes to training methods, new facilities, two sets of warring brothers (Ferraris and Mastros) gone. Personally I'm just happy to see them doing well again - top five is definitely where the Cowboys like to be. 3rd in 2019, 2020 lost to covid, 3rd in 2021, and then a couple of rebuilding/ohnowebetterchangesomethingsquick years in 2022 and 2023. People were mad about the money but now they're mad about the timeline: it appears that PSU was doing the RTC and fundraising years before it was actually allowed by the NCAA. So teams like the Cowboys/Hawkeyes/everybody else were still leaning on the allotted 9.9 scholarships per season while PSU was using millions of private dollars to bring in elite college & HS wrestlers, train them with Olympians, and promise them jobs after graduation. The NCAA did eventually change their rules to allow all teams to do this, but PSU essentially got a several year head start and then also avoided sanctions when their actions came to light. This is just what I've gathered as a casual and interested fan of D1 wrestling, not trying to drum up rage or anything.
  24. Or a failpin? Tons of raw talent, won several OK state titles without cutting weight or lifting much. If he applies himself to the D1 lifestyle he could really turn some heads... but if good enough stays good enough for him, he'll stay good enough.
  25. 125 Spratley V. Tanner Jordan #27 133 Fix vs. Cardinal #19 141 Jamison v. Carlson #31 149 Williams v. Aleck Martin #15 157 Travis vs. Cael Swenson #20 165 Olejnik v. Both teams undefeated in conference duals and riding momentum. On paper the Cowboys take it but it’s SDSUs best season to date. Williams and Thompson have good opportunities to prove themselves and climb the rankings.
