  1. Vito still has a bit of a cut to get to 133!
  2. Keep in mind that the last time he went 57 kg was less than a year ago at U23 Worlds (late October). He went 0-1, was smoked by Uulu of Kyrgistan 11-6. Uulu went on to take bronze. Since then, he has had a year to get older and bigger. This does not bode well for any 57 kg cut.
  3. Very interesting. How would these women be tested on a regular basis? I can't imagine WADA employees are welcomed into the Hermit Kingdom with open arms.
  4. Maybe, but it just takes one minor mistake by Shapiro (and a ref that isn't afraid to slap the mat).
  5. Very possible. Still wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make the trip. It is going to be a weird year. I hope he does make the trip, especially if I fly into Raleigh that weekend!
  6. Possible. Making the weight for the wrestle-offs won't be fun for anyone. Still, it may not be worth a trip to Raleigh when he can get a couple decent, fully fed workouts with Yianni in Ithaca.
  7. This dual is less than two weeks before he would have to be at the Pan Am Olympic Qualifier should Vito gain the 57 kg spot and attempt to qualify it. I would imagine, in that case, folkstyle and travel to NC would be de-emphasized.
  8. Fishback is pretty good. I think Shapiro handles Scott, but check out the Scott/Andonian matches to see what he's capable of. You won't regret it. Who is Vito's backup, because I think there is a decent chance Vito doesn't make the trip.
  9. I can only make it down to Raleigh for one February dual. Still deciding between Cornell on 2/17 or Vtech the next week. Cornell has some studs that I want to see, but the Wolfpack/Hokies rivalry is always electric!
  10. Well that's one scenario. There's also other scenarios. Ever see "The Wire?" Are you familiar with Omar Little (who was based on a real person)? That is another type of bad outcome involved with dealing drugs.
  11. He's a very smart guy! (this feels like a Gimp joke!)
  12. Very interesting matchup. I like your analysis, By that point in their careers, I'm not sure how many guys like JB that Yaz had wrestled. JB had wrestled a ton of guys who tried to bully him into ties. I also like JB in the matchup due to his experience.
  13. I'm pretty sure they went mostly "off" the next year, as 2017 was a down year for them. Probably looking to gain back some degree of legitimacy. When they saw how they looked in 2017 it was back "on" for a much improved 2018.
  14. The suspended guys won't make a huge difference, except probably at heavy. Other than (supposedly) one of them, they won't be coming back second semester anyway. I acknowledge your jest, but Iowa is building a new facility anyway, which may not have been able to happen without Rob Koll. (Just ask him!) How dare you question Spencer's godliness. What was the result last time he and Vito tangled?
  15. I certainly did. You knew it wasn't their full schedule, but then had to ask if it were a joke. Enough negativity in this world, C'mon man.
  16. So, you didn't think it was actually their full schedule but started a thread anyway? I'm not happy that NC State hasn't posted ANYTHING yet, but I don't see a reason to start a thread on it.
  17. That looks like a partial Big 10 schedule. The social media director must have had to leave early or something. You really thought this was their whole schedule?
  18. Potentially some great coaches there, but... A lot of these guys who are being mentioned may have the tools, but aren't in the college ranks. Unless they have an "in," I imagine it would be tough to get an AD to look at them. Kemp, Mocco, Dake, Burroughs, Askren, Slay, Humphrey aren't in college rooms or (more importantly) offices. An AD isn't going to want to take a chance on a club coach who is going to violate multiple NCAA rules and create headaches for the AD. I'm not privy to individual circumstances, but it is certainly possible that Slay (for instance) has a great relationship with the Penn athletic department and they'd love to hire him. The same could be true for any number of the other guys. However, knowing athletics like I do, most ADs are going to be risk averse and in full-time CYA mode. You'd likely need a "visionary" type AD, someone plugged into wrestling, or a pre-existing relationship to get an AD to hire an RTC coach or club coach.
  19. He's actually said he would consider the right job, recently!
  20. Prob because he beat JB. JB is still actively complaining that Geduev was doped to the gills. That keeps it out that.(JRE podcast)
