  1. 4-0 still in Macchs match on Mat C at the break. He needs to pick up some offense here in the second.
  2. TD and Gut by Poland. Up 4-0 on Macch 1M45S to go in the first.
  3. Man Jackson looks so good when he looks good. Especially at 92 KG.
  4. China's Deng and Gwiazdowski up next on Mat A. Winner faces Geno... who INJDEF to Zare.
  5. I think so, yes. Not sure how serious either of them were. It isn't like Azarpira is that much of a drop-off if he is good enough to win age level worlds multiple times. It may have been something more minor that they were being cautious about in preparation for 2024 Olympics.
  6. Snyder beat Azarpira at this tournament last year via 3-0 Decision. He beat Valencia last year at the Hungarian GP via 6-3 Decision then lost to him at Worlds via 12-9 Decision.
  7. Well he was coming off injury as well, so he might not have been able to get much cardio in before... got chonk then leaned out simply... just... bigger. He looked good, physically. But every one of his matches was physical today.
  8. Of note, Azarpira of Iran, the guy who took Ghasempour's place this last year at 92 KG after he was injured, is opposite Snyder and beat both Macchiavello and Trumble. Trumble match was 8-7 whereas Macchiavello was a 11-0 drubbing.
  9. He needs to figure out how to wrestle someone with that length advantage on him. Cassioppi had that problem his last time out at U23s as well. Lost to some skinny guy from Georgia via Tech that was just insanely tall and long who wasn't necessarily a superior wrestler. Geog of Ohio State has that problem at 197lbs this year, too.
  10. Looks like if Macchiavello wins his next match in Repechage he will face Trumble. The winner between that match will wrestle for Bronze.
  11. 8S to go... not sure who has criteria here... 2-2. Looks like Margishvili had criteria. He wins.
  12. He only needs one point, because Georgia is on the clock... it will only be 10S to go when it expires.
  13. Schultz is down 2-1 on Mat B right now with 1m6s to go to Margishvili of Georgia.
  14. Ghas is still laying on the gas... lets off with about 10s to go. Snyder wins 4-0. Even with more size it doesn't look like the gap has gotten any smaller between these two.
  15. Awesome sequence there... Ghasempour in deep, hipped in... some actual heavy scrambling... go-behind by Snyder... looked as much like Ghas either gave up or thought he was on the edge. Fatigue may be a factor. 4-0 1m8s to go. Snyder up.
  16. He's doing a good job of controlling Snyder's head in spurts.
