  1. What? He didn't say Crookham was the best Freshman. He asked who other than Crookham would, or should, be in consideration. 'Best' wasn't even the question, to begin with. Also, he asked who was the toughest Freshman. Toughest does not equal best, however I will concede this to you for now. If you can't understand why Crookham's name would have been a headliner more than any other Freshman this year, then you aren't following wrestling, either. Is there another Freshman that beat a defending World Champion at their weight this year that the rest of us didn't see? Is it because of the World Champion that he beat that you're saying he isn't the best (toughest) Freshman? I am having trouble following your logic here, so please educate us (me). Additionally, of the Freshman who are in conversation of best (toughest) there are only a few that I might put in the conversation of being the best while also being the toughest. Crookham (Lehigh, 14W - 0L) McEnelly (Minnesota, 15W - 0L), and Arnold (Iowa, 11W - 0L) are the three that I think would fit both categories, while also being undefeated. Two (2) of them are (still) on Redshirt, which leaves one (1) left in Crookham.
  2. Awesome stuff, Wkn! Honestly when I saw @1032004's predictions I actually thought to myself 'That looks to be the most sensible one, yet.' Pretty cool that he about nailed it.
  3. If Michigan doesn't nab him, I hope he heads to North Carolina and reunites with Koll.
  4. ~90ish +/- depending on bonus, I think?
  5. Taylor is an AA threat at 165, otherwise best-case seems abiut right.
  6. It's a unique opportunity he has, for sure (as well as Brooks and Star, should they take it). And should he complete the feat, it will be part of the discussion for decades when discussing the greatest college resumes. I just strongly disagree that it would count for less than all the other 4 timers as you proclaim. All the other guys other than Dake took a redshirt at some point to accomplish the feat. It would be easy to argue that third as a true freshman is more impressive than redshirting (i.e. 3,1,1,1,1 > RS,1,1,1,1). Precisely why if Sta(l)rocci won five, he would be the actual GOAT. 1,1,1,1,1? C'mon man... epic feat.
  7. By my aforementioned logic if you haven't wrestled at NCAAs then you don't get to criticize him for (potentially) winning four. Even though I have, I still reserve the right to not criticize him. Sit down, kid.
  8. How many did you win? Did you ever even make it to NCAAs as a competitor in D1 college wrestling, let alone win a single title there? If not, then you have no clue what it takes. Sit down.
  9. Yeah... Arnold has two to go. Was unattached at the Soldier Solute.
  10. He has four competitions, but I don't know if he was attached at the Soldier Solute. For example, Ryder Rogotzke had five competitions before his Michigan match, making Penn State his 7th... he was unattatched at Midlands, though. Midlands and Solider Solute were the same days. Edit: Meaning if he wasn't attached at Soldier Solute, then he has two left. Penn State and Oklahoma State.
  11. I think Steveson of the 2020(1) Olympics techs this Masoumi easily. Parris had no problem getting to his legs, he just stayed under too long. Steveson wouldn't stay under long. He'd get the leg and a takedown quite quickly without having to stay under that mountain. He wouldn't get pushed out like that, either... drop and another Takedown. EZPZ for Steveson, imho.
  12. Gibson came on to the scene like some sort of demon. Didn't he beat Ungar when he was in like 7th grade and Ungar a senior? I think with Bassett and Herring, you nailed it on the head. He is there because Bassett is the #1 guy in the country at 138lbs. I think Bassett could handle the bump to 145 now. He's got that dog in him for that and it would set Herring up nicely as well.
  13. There are those who think Rutgers is a National Powerhouse.
  14. You mean like Sta(l)rocci? Edit: Is Aaron Brooks a better example? Sta(l)rocci seems to be satisfied with not wrestling that fifth/extra year.
  15. That isn't what the rumblings were at the time. I didn't think that were the case, either, but Askren had eluded to it several times on FRL over the years. Which would mean he would still have two years left after this, had he done it then, too...
  16. FIFY... also... I don't know you, so I cannot formally form any sort of an opinion. Not properly, in any case. I would thoroughly enjoy helping you in finding your Jack for you. It appears obvious that there is something there... some sort of spark. You should pursue that. The heart wants what the heart wants and go you for coming to terms on that. I can't be your Jack. My heart has been sold for some 30+ years. I am sorry.
  17. Jack? Who is Jack and why are you obsessed with him? Does he know how you feel?
  18. What the actual ***duck** are you on about? Two things: I don't care what you have to say. That's actually it, so... bugger off, son. Thank you for your attention today. I am sure it meant something to you as much as it did to me.
  19. The fact that you don't know who I am (most old faithfuls here do) shows how ignorant you are on the subject. Let it lie. I never said it wasn't worth anyone's time. I said it wasn't worth mine. There is a huge difference there. As far as the door being there? I am good. If you don't care to read my posts, block me. Your loss, not mine.
  20. Eh, this isn't exactly telling the truth of the matter. 2021 was a free year, so using a redshirt or not didn't or wasn't going to matter. He chose to use the free year for his team.
  21. I really think if Bassett and Herring were to swap weights they would be better off. Bassett's other jump to 138 was a bit premature as he hadn't grown into the weight or gotten used to it (yet). I think he is there, now.
  22. Parris got handled by Masoumi. He needs to figure out how to not let that happen as well.
