  1. I disagree - I think Vito is the best bet in what is a wide open weight. I think he gets the spot and qualifies us at Last Chance.
  2. That's 6 matches in 5 years - just saying
  3. There are no guarantees about anyone winning a title at any time in the future - Who knew how good RBY was going to get? or that Vito would blossom and get even better than that? Reaching the finals 4 times is amazing - this year at least he just got beat by a better wrestler.
  4. Do you know if Byrd is planning on returning at 133? I thought part of the reason for the RS year might be to bulk up for 141.
  5. I know it's a long road but I'm still hoping he can get back to competing as he loves to do.
  6. I hope that Sasso can get back on the mat and finish up at 149 or 157 - if he can recover enough he could get that NC - that would be an amazing story
  7. Michigan has some really good young talent - they had a very good recruiting class last year that included Lemley who looked great starting at 141 as a true freshman - they have the older Mantanona looked promising at 165 and his younger brother might be ready to go at 157. They have a promising kid at 125 in Horwath and Ragusin is back for 1 more year.
  8. I have great respect for Coach Manning and I love his passion for his guys. Still I find it extremely ironic that he of all people is complaining about Cael not reporting fully that Suriano had an ankle problem in 2017 and may be less than open about CS's status now. In 2013 he famously had a great athlete break his ankle 6 weeks before the World Championships and kept it totally quiet - if I remember correctly he did not even let the American alternate (Kyle Dake or his coach R Koll) in on it. Now that time JB was able to accomplish one of the most amazing things ever done in the sport by winning the WC without being able to train in a normal way for 6 weeks leading up to it. For Manning to now complain that Cael is essentially doing for his guys what Manning did for JB in that instance is a little hard to accept.
  9. Here are my picks: 125 - # 22 B Palmer Chatt 133 - #18 Nick Bouzakis - Ohio St 141 - #19 M Hines Lehigh 149 - #27 - J Crook Harv 157 - #18 - V Zerban No Col 165 - #21 - C Fish MSU 174 - #18 - B Pasiuk Army 184 - #25 - D Key Navy 197 - #19 - W Voelker UNI 285 - # 25 - B Hill Iowa
  10. That list of guys at 65kg who haven't qualified is scary but the European and Asian Olympic Qualifiers are not until early April. There will be 4 top guys qualifying in those tournaments who will not be at the last chance qualifier. I agree with your point that the last chance qualifier is tougher than the Pan Ams Q but our Olympic rep will be there and if he will have his shot to qualify the weight. Hope they both get it done.
  11. I am sticking with the same guy I was picking Preseason - Jakob Camacho - NC State -
  12. Agreed - 197 is very deep this year - there will be 10 very good wrestlers who don't make the podium and I expect Glazier will be one of them.
  13. Sacred Heart is D1 in all their sports
  14. Gomez is definitely capable of winning it all. Just go back and watch what he did to Yianni in the dual meet. Yianni had only one other loss in college and it wasn't like that one. Gomez outwrestled him for 7 minutes in every position. Of course he is also capable of wrestling like he did against Ridge Lovett a few weeks ago. It will be interesting to see which Auatin shows up.
  15. He was also applauding at the end of Kasek's match at 149
  16. There are three very good guys that will probably exhaust their Ivy eligibility with Cornel this year who will be big pick ups for one season - Foca, Cardenas and Fernandes - I am hoping Foca decides to do a graduate year at Lehigh.
  17. At the same time Tony was losing 20 lbs Kerk was putting on 20 lbs of muscle.
  18. In his dual meet win over Yianni he looked amazing. Yianni lost 1 other match in his college career and it was due to some last second points Eirman got off a cradle. Gomez beat him by outwrestling him for 7 minutes. If he is that guy he is my pick to win the NC. I concur with Ionel that injuries have been his downfall. Ridge Lovett has looked great this year but I think Gomez takes it all in March.
  19. A Alirez No Colorado's defending NC is the biggest name - Connor Flynn Va Tech was in ORS but they just pulled it and put him into the lineup. B Amos of Wisconsin and Alex Facundo of PSU are ORS as well as C Realbuto of No Iowa (he is on the Italian Oly team) - Zeke Jones has stated that Colton Schultz is focusing on Greco during the early part of this season but that he will be competing in folkstyle for ASU this year. those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
  20. Hopefully tomorrow Crookham gets his 3rd major test this year against Fix - that should be a great matchup.
  21. I expect Conigliaro is doing the typical Ivy League thing of taking the 1st semester off so he won't risk getting enough undergrad credits that he completes his undergrad degree. Schultz is going to spend some time this season concentrating on Greco but ZJ says he will compete for ASU this year.
  22. I can't get in either - it kicks me out and then will not let me log in - is there a phone # for support for Flo?
