  1. Meh I really don’t get the love for Taylor as a commentator…
  2. Lol no worries. I honestly have no idea how injured he is, but I wouldn’t think he would be playing football, or even do the match at all, if it was serious. But of course even a minor injury could make a big difference against someone like Kerk.
  3. Not sure. I know there was the “referees decisions” at one point but thought that was a while back. There was also the “ball grab” in freestyle
  4. Ayala dec Terukina 3-0 Iowa Frost dec Teske 3-3 Woods tech Frost 8-3 Iowa (I’m thinking they don’t use Echemendia because of his bottom deficiencies, but Woods gets the tech anyway) Swiderski dec Voinovich 8-6 Franek dec Chittum 11-6 Carr dec Caliendo 11-9 Arnold dec Gaitan 14-9 Feldkamp pin Swafford 15-14 ISU Glazier dec Broderson 17-15 Iowa Bastida dec Hill 18-17 ISU
  5. Sunday 3:00 Eastern / 2:00 Central on ESPN Regular
  6. Well 165 is crazy deep and I don’t think many would have ever expected him to be able to beat O’Toole or Carr. Although I know some thought he should’ve been able to beat Amine which he can’t seem to do. Him and Messenbrink could be a fun match.
  7. I wonder if Jimmy still thinks Woods is the biggest lock to win?
  8. I preferred the kids from the Maryland/Pitt dual honestly. Taylor was basically coaching the guys.
  9. Matches were decided by coin flips in 2001?
  10. Maryland/Pitt, VT/Rutgers and Iowa/Oregon State were all pretty good IMO and I believe B10 may have posted “condensed” versions on YouTube. I also thought Army/NC State was decent and made an earlier thread about it, which Flo put on YouTube
  11. Can’t remember if it was that dual or not, but an announcer pointed out that in one match there was a stall call on bottom, a stall call on top then a stalemate from essentially the same position
  12. Were there really many times they “didn’t know how the scoring works”? I noticed a couple but I think it was usually the result of the scoreboard being wrong. For example one time they said one guy got an escape in the first period before there was a takedown, but the scoreboard initially did show 1-0 before being corrected
  13. Yeah again in the hypothetical dual between 125 and 133 “gents” I was pretending they all “were in the correct weight class for their body.” I just thought this match was interesting because it appeared to be 2 guys that were in the “correct weight class for their body” and a guy that was ranked in the 20’s at 125 beat a guy ranked in the teens at 133. And I believe Brown was only ranked in the teens even before taking the losses at 125. I mean in your defense there are a couple guys that dropped this year and are doing well (Palmer and Maida), but I think part of their success is they probably are “larger” than most of their opponents. At first glance you’d think both Santaniello and Bouzakis are over-ranked, but I think that kinda speaks to the lack of depth at 133. This reminds me of the convo that came up around Crookham, when Kozak said Crookham probably would’ve been ranked 10 or 11 to start the season if he was the starter. At first it seems odd but when you look at the rest of the guys, it’s tough to argue who should be ranked higher.
  14. Oh and someone needs to make a gif of those 3 consecutive mat returns from Brown. Shane Sparks is probably having wet dreams about that
  15. Wouid the score have been much different with Brown at 125? Seems most likely scenario would’ve been something like a Brown decision win and a Sandoval loss by major. Of course one team point difference would have changed their chances going into 285. Speaking of Miller stalling, that was odd when he literally just laid on top of Matthews after hitting that 7 point move. He needs to take some “smart stalling” lessons from @pmilk I guess…
  16. They’re typically students I believe. For that reason I try to give them some slack. While these ones did have a few mishaps I thought they had good energy and communication skills, I’ve heard much worse. For example it wasn’t “like” or “you know” every other word. Much prefer IMO to the zero announcers that Flo provides sometimes
  17. Yeah I do remember hearing he kinda got pushed out for Gross. Not sure what that would have to do with Askren though?
  18. Braxton Brown, #22 at 125 takes out Vinny Santaniello, #13 at 133…
  19. I don't hate RT but I wouldn't be upset if it were eliminated...
  20. I completely forgot that Askren had coached at the RTC…
  21. I still think you should have to break the hold to get multiple exposure points. I just don’t see how rolling around the mat is supposed to be exciting
  22. It’s kinda crazy that Evan Henderson has beaten Muskukaev, the US has not done well at 65, and yet is Henderson even currently in our top 5 (if we count Zain)?
