  1. Guessing would have to go back a decade or so when guys wrestled more matches...
  2. I'm not sure if the other 2 (in addition to SDSU, which technically shows on wrestlestat as an injury default but should be a DQ) were separate incidents. They were at the same tournament, so he may have gotten DQ'ed from one match and then been automatically DQ'ed from the next (or would that be a MFF, not sure). I wouldn't read much into the MFF's. He did win by injury default twice in the same tournament in 2020 though which I would imagine isn't all that common.
  3. The doc sounds like he only did 8th grade twice now edit: shoot I think I misunderstood that video he did with JerseyJerry. He just said he “did 8th grade twice,” not that he “got held back twice”
  4. That was interesting, I also didn’t realize coaches go to practices to recruit…
  5. Why are we assuming it was a different username? I’m assuming it’s Fernandes’ dad (or Baylor himself), I mean who else would try to defend this?
  6. Yes a fishhook is dirty and illegal. But this topic is about the "dirtiest," and a fishhook isn't the dirtiest thing that can be done in wrestling. This Fernandes guy is up there though, although I agree calling him "irredeemable" is unnecessary
  7. Well for one, trying to break someone's elbow is worse than a fish hook... Also, haven't other wrestlers complained about Burroughs' hand fighting for example?
  8. I saw people bringing this up on twitter but I didn't know who these people were. Apparently that Youtube video has 3.5 million views...
  9. He had an overhook and tried to bend the elbow up and against the joint. He did it twice in the Chattanooga clip, you can see the Chattanooga wrestler shaking his arm out after the first time when the ref couldn't really see it and then he does it again and the match is stopped and the Chattanooga wrestler is awarded a penalty point. But Fernandes actually won this match 6-2. It doesn't appear any prior penalty points were awarded in the SDSU clip. But right in the beginning he appears to try to twist his fingers, then also of course the multitude of slaps to the head, the most egregious of which I thought was right after the restart after the ref was talking to them. Technically, I'm not sure if he was DQ'ed right away for the elbow thing. It appears as if he was penalized for an illegal move which resulted in an injury to Cook who did not continue, thus ultimately resulting in the DQ.
  10. Hope so. But Alirez didn’t wrestle in their next competition either, was he suspended too? (Kidding) At the end of the Chattanooga clip, is that Nickerson coming out on the mat yelling? If so, he’s clearly aware of this happening previously. I wonder if any punishment was given last time.
  11. I know right? Incredible restraint shown by Cook there, kudos to him and Hahn. I’m guessing you are Fernandes’ dad so I’ll give you a break, but while calling him “irredeemable” is unnecessary, there is really nothing defensible about his actions in those 2 videos.
  12. The thing that stood out to me (other than the elbow thing) was after the ref stopped the match and talked to both wrestlers presumably to say take it easy, as soon as he blew the whistle for the next restart Fernandes basically punches Cook in the head. I’m not sure that would’ve been worthy of throwing him out, but should’ve at least been a penalty point. Did he knock someone out? Wtf is a “KO bonus” supposed to mean?
  13. This is a pretty standard Jimmy post of 90% decent thoughts with a little trolling mixed in. I doubt Jimmy really thinks Murin will get 3rd.
  14. Or the brackets put them (2 of Yianni/Gomez/Sasso) wrestling each other prior to the 3rd place match. I agree I don’t see Murin beating one of them, but could see the brackets working out in his favor.
  15. That Turley/Fisher match was brutal to watch if you’re a Rutgers fan. Storniolo laughing at Goodale throwing the lung brick was pretty funny
  16. No clue what this tweet was in reference to, but appears to be some foreshadowing going on:
  17. What about the Chattanooga wrestler? Fernandes did it twice in a span of about 15 seconds in that match.
  18. These are from 2 separate matches this year, and according to his wrestlestat he was also DQ’ed from the “Cougar Clash”
  19. 125 and 133 had exciting action…
  20. He repeated 8th grade 38 times to get ready for high school wrestling
  21. Lamer injured or did Bormet duck Sasso?
  22. Watching tOSU Michigan now. Pretty sure the first stalling in the 125 match wasn't until there was 18 seconds left in the match, and the first stalling wasn't called in the 133 match until there was 35 seconds left in the third (although it was still tied).
  23. Yeah definitely looks like Columbia matched up much better with Lehigh. Not that it would have helped much but Columbia didn't have their starting 165 Ogunsanya against Cornell. But according to the Lehigh recap all 7 of Columbia's guys from 125-174 are ranked in the top 30.
  24. Did the match start at 125 and Lehigh's heavyweight missed out on the major by one point? Although not sure who would've won the tiebreaker
