Gadisov-So does this mean....
wrestlingshoe replied to WrestlingRasta's topic in International Wrestling
Style match ups... Yaz's underhooks were more effective at stopping Goadisov's head butting and brawling. JB's attack from the outside had to go through Gadisov. Remember the blood and stoppages. I'm on the side of PEDs because Gadisov was not nearly that nasty previously. -
He's said as much on FRL a few times recently.

I almost put Vito on my list. Love to watch him. If he can translate his wrestling to coaching that would be amazing. Funt to watch. Dynamic. Technical.

He has no desire to coach at the college level. Just think he would be a good draw, fun, and he's doing an amazing job at the club level it seems. Even some of my non wrestling HS students recognize his poster on my wall from MMA.

Which current or former US World or Olympic team members who have never been a head coach at the college level would you choose to coach your team? My choice in no particular order... Askren, Taylor, Kemp

Is this thread for grown ups? It reads like a bunch of middle schoolers. "You said this..." "No I didn't. You started it."

2023 World Wrestling tournament...

Wrestled a great match but his lack of experience showed with the second chest wrap attempt. -
That's just Dake doin' Dake things...

Plus, he's not the most complete US wrestler if he was kept off the team for multiple years by another US wrestler. -
The way our sport is set up has positives and negatives. If our sport was one of the four major sports. If it was a lot more popular and our top 10 in each weight were millionaires or even close, we wouldn't have the same access to the sport we do now. Two of my best memories are sitting next to Burroughs in a bar the night before a coaches clinic after he won the olympics. l and talking lake normal humans beings. The other is having a coaches BBQ at a camp in 2010 where Kenny Monday was the main clinician. We sat at a table for a couple hours with a few other coaches and talked about wrestling, talked about family, talked about life. As a club and HS coch there are many more elbow rubs at regional and national tournament la, just like many coaches and young wrestlers across the nation. That wouldn't happen if we had what others have. There is an intimacy to this sport that is unrivaled. Not in many other arenas do young athletes compete in the same gym as Olympic champions.

But there are lots of other cars and dealers to choose from.

I pay $12.50 a month for Flo. If you wanted to pay less to stream your favorite sport, you should have picked a different favorite sport. Wrestling does not have that fan base to charge less. It's also the reason we have to put up with a subpar streaming service, commentators ext... I still remember when I had to buy a poor quality VHS tape months later or read USA Wrestling magazine a month later. So much whining from old men is hilarious. And if you think MLS on AppleTV+ is without issues, think again. I have a paid subscription to AppleTV+ and still had to pay a good chunk of change to add MLS

Religious zealots are the same. If you don't believe the way they do you are wrong. I am Luthern (ELCA). One of my beliefs is that maybe God presents himself differently to different people, who am I to judge. I in no way believe God wants me to win more than another person or even cares if I win or lose a wrestling match. He gives me strengths and talents, but it is up to me to optimize them. For instance, he may give me athleticism, but I have to transfer that into good underhooks (and most likely with the help of a good coach and good training partners).

Big Burroughs fan. I was hoping he would leave his shoes on the mat. I'd rather that than seeing him up at the table arguing calls with his coach and then having a hard time leaving the mat. He had a difficult time leaving the mat when he lost to Dake 2 straight, as well. I've watched the 1988 Monday/Schultz Olympic trials a couple of times and love the way Schultz left the mat after his second loss and then carried Monday around the mat on his shoulders after Monday won Gold.

I will be interested to see Brooks' reaction when he gets to heaven and God says, "I had nothing to do with those underhooks." It always amazes me that some people think God cares about sports. On the other hand, maybe God sits on his couch every Sunday during NFL season, cracks open a cold one, and swears at the officials.

So, you are saying it's not like basketball where all the athletes on the team compete at the same time on the same court?

This explains a lot (lack of stall calls on top)
wrestlingshoe replied to 1032004's topic in College Wrestling
What stands out to me more are the "general purpose stalling rules" mentioned first. It doesn't seem like those are applied effectively nor correctly... Considered stalling when "Attempting to avoid wrestling" (5.7.1). "Offensive and defensive wrestlers shall make an attempt to sustain active wrestling and remain in the competition circle" (5.7.11). "Action is to be maintained throughout the match by wrestlers staying near the center of the mat and wrestling aggressively in all positions." -
Who is the single greatest wrestler from your school?
wrestlingshoe replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
You nailed it.
