There were. It was extremely tight. From what I heard from a very good source is Figs won more than he lost.

Zeke is the coach. He has to make the final call on these decisions. A lot of bad decisions from Zeke as of late.

Personally. I think he goes down to 133 next year. I don’t think Parco fits in at 157. Larkin and Ruiz coming in next year at that 149-165 range. I’m also guessing they RS. But you also still have Kilic there at 157 next year.

If he continues to wrestle freestyle at 46kg. I could see him cutting to 133 next year.

Not sure about Yas vs Vasquez. Yas wrestled 61kg last summer. I do not think it’s out of the picture him going to 133 next year. I do know Figs beats Courtney more than he loses. It’s very tight. If this is Courtney’s senior season, maybe give him the nod. But it’s his free covid season. I would go with Figs, the future. Kilic is RS at 157. Maybe Ramos up there at 157 if there is movement with Teemer.

Yas competed in a couple tournaments unattached. He only wrestled the last 2 duals as the only 2 matches that count fur eligibility. So his RS is still intact for this year. I would think 99.99% chance that he does not wrestle Pac 12s regardless of Vasquez’s availability.

Ramos wrestled as a true freshman last year. Took his RS this year. Not sure where he will fit in. Yas is done fir the year I would say. No way they pull his RS for Pac 12s. Maybe guys move up? Maybe Yas goes to 133. Chlebove has been wrestling well at 133. 2024 will see a hole at 133 and 165 until they are filled. Do guys move up or down? Larkin and Ruiz RS in 2024. 2 guys in that 149-165 range.

All Figs has shown all year is the ability to not lose a match. He is very tight in matches with Courtney. That is expected by two guys with such ability that wrestle everyday for 2 years together. Figs wins more than he loses in the room though.

Yas wrestled the last two duals. Vazquez is hurt.

Valencia has been wrestling very good since the calendar flipped to 2023.

Figs should be wrestling over Courtney. The Valiant pipeline has started for ASU. Great win for Yas.

Coleman looked terrible. If you see him again, that’s not a good sign for ASU.

I don’t foresee any coaching changes. Norfleet didn’t come in as a top recruit either. I think guys at upper weights have a shot to follow his trajectory. They were top 10 guys in their weight class coming out of HS. Chlebove has been wrestling very good. If guys move up a weight and Yas wrestles 141, I think Chlebove could surprise people at 133.

Zeke is great for the program, great for AZ wrestling, great for Sunkist kids. Not sure he’s that great as a college head coach. The program looks to me like it has gotten casual, like during the Sean Charles years.

They have Ysaguire at 133/141 red shirting this year. Still have Montalvo at 184. Cael looks terrible. Looks in terrible shape and uninterested. Have Schunke and Messenier at the upper weights red shirting. Larkin is also coming in next year in the middle weight mix. Guess he would red shirt. The BIGGEST problem. Losing Pendleton. You can see now by what he is doing at OSU how much he meant to the team.

I would say with the Ramos win, Figs has out performed Courtney this year. W is a W vs like opponents. I don’t consider score much. But I haven’t gotten any info on their H2H results. It’s a very tight sticky situation.

I don’t see this situation remotely close to the Chlebove situation. Reminds me more of the Kraus CPag situation where he went with the Sr. The track record with the school much different in this case. In this case. Both guys are too good not to have a 2/3 wrestle off. Imagine they will have more than one before it’s all said and done.

How many matches or how much time? He was out of the country in September and October. It’s a tough situation. I want to say it again though. He is an awesome person and great teammate.

This team is missing Pendleton. Zeke should have moved on into a role with Sunkist and ASU on the side. Keeping Pendleton with the team as head coach. Plus they haven’t filled that void that was left. Also, Schultz misses a lot of time with the team and completion fir his Greco career. He is a great person that does great things. I think he needs to be around alot more. You can see how it affects his wrestling in college.
