  1. All Star match isn’t supposed to count for National seeding, but the year after Mark Hall won NCAA’s he was seeded second behind Valencia. Both were “undefeated”, though Valencia had beaten him in the All Star match.
  2. Well, it wouldn’t artificially inflate their team score. Any points from his #33 vs #1 would be earned.
  3. Seed Kerkvliet #33 if it makes you happy. Won’t make a difference in the final outcome.
  4. Monsanto made Astro Turf. Don’t know if they are still in the business. Prob not.
  5. What if Starocci doesn’t come back? Could it go MM at 157, LH at 165, and AF at 174?
  6. Sorry, but you have your years mixed up. There was no championship in 2020, cancelled by Covid. And Iowa would have been the favorite, based on beating Penn State in the dual meet. But the dual turned on Kemerer upsetting Mark Hall. Hall returned the favor in the Big 10’s. PSU would have gone into NCAA’s with RBY, Lee, Joseph, Hall, Brooks, and an uncanny ability to peak in March. Iowa won Nat’s in 2021, deservedly.
  7. You mean they won a title on Penn State’s reload year, with 5 PA kids in the starting line up. Iowa kids are more likely to get hurt than win a national title. Name an Iowa wrestler in the last 10 years who got better while they were in college. But No, they aren’t on the hot seat.
  8. Just because Haines has had some close ones, and hasn’t dominated like some think he should, just remember he hasn’t lost yet. Some guys just find a way to not lose. Also Retherford lost to the #1 seed in the consolation semi’s because #1 lost in the round of 8 and the crossover caused them to wrestle early. Retherford, a true Fr, lost in SV to RS Sr. He should have been 3rd.
  9. While Truax may not have had the dominating season we might have been expecting, he does have a lot of experience to call upon in March. 125 and 149 are true freshman. Nobody thought they were going to AA without having to work real hard at nationals. Nagao is the same. It all comes down to 3 days in March.
  10. 2023-24 Burn Kasak’s red shirt. Romp thru NCAAs 2024-25 RS Davis, Kasak, Haines (unless Starocci/Kerkvliet return). Settle out the new wrestlers 174-285, (kind of like what they did in 2015) 2026-29 Win next 4 NCAA’s. It is kind of their pattern.
  11. Considering it’s only 1/2 way thru his rs freshman year, maybe the noise around MM might be a little early. But if there is one thing we know about Cael, it’s not where his wrestlers are in January, it’s where they finish in March. Except for KOT and DC, there might not be anybody you would less like to see in your bracket come nationals.
  12. Pretty much just a general statement. My only point is last year doesn’t count this year.
  13. No, not assuming anything. But an undefeated wrestler, especially a big 10 champ with wins over multiple AA, gets seeded over a wrestler with losses, regardless of what he did last year. At least I would think he would.
  14. If O’toole has a loss, it’s no different then a 2x defending, 1 loss Aaron Brooks. And I am pretty sure he was seeded 3rd. An undefeated Mesenbrink gets seeded ahead of a 1 loss O’toole.
