  1. How about deleting the total wins column since the value is more related to school scheduling which is out the hands of the wrestler. I doubt it makes much of a difference in the ranking, but lets omit factors a wrestler can't control.
  2. ...and vice versa. He could restart wrestling after his enlistment.
  3. I think what you are seeing here is some, I'll call it favoritism for lack of a better term, to include Yanni because of his 4th title. But, he's got a loss which would ordinarily discount the wrestler if there are undefeated competitors in the mix. Well, if you include Yanni despite his loss, then you have to include others with a loss, i.e., O'Toole, Brooks, etc. Ultimately, that shakes out to include all of the 2023. champs. That kinda spins the criteria a bit from a performance for the year to one that includes career.
  4. BTW, SNY does not have any law that protects the NYC DA from being sued. If arrested and after it plays out, watch for Trump to come flying right back at the NYC DA with a malicious prosecution civil suit for mega bucks.
  5. ...if there was a SNY, that he broke. There isn't.
  6. I have always found it curious that HB rents the Big Guy's vaca home on the beach in Delaware from his father for $50,000 a month.
  7. Even if the NYC DA goes loco and arrests Trump, its highly probable the charge gets tossed on multiple grounds upon first appeal in front of a judge; even a NYC judge. The charge is based solely on testimony from Michael Cohen, Trumps former attorney. Cohen's defense attorney, with a confidentiality release signed by Cohen in hand, testified in front of the grand jury and totally blew out Cohen's testimony.
  8. For potentially ripe portal entries, look at AA's that are underclassmen at less competitive schools and your upcoming grad students. The rest are guesses. 125 - 4th - Anthony Noto, Lock Haven, RS Soph 165 - 8th - Izzak Olejnik, Northern Illinois, RS SR with a COVID bonus Year 184 - 7th - Will Feldkamp, Clarion, RS SR with a COVID bonus Year 285 - 5th - Lucas Davison, Northwestern, RS SR with COVID bonus year
  9. I hadn't watched VA all season. As soon as he stepped into the ring I noticed how big he had become. He dwarfed RBY. He's clearly an example of one that is far better not cutting weight. It's hard to believe he had any losses this season. I suspect he is in late a growth stage and may well be at 141 next season. After seeing his magic at 133 I now know why Glory fought the food demons to stay at 125.
  10. Interesting deja vu. HS - Lee was a 3x champion losing in the final of his 4th championship bout. NCAA - Lee was a 3x champion losing in the semi final going for his 4th title
  11. Nah. the fam was assured gold and silver. Little bro could have easily MF'd to let big bro have the title, .....but they are ...wrestlers. If there was any angst for the parents, it was hoping that neither got seriously injured.... or embarrassed.
  12. True, up until B1G finals, now he's high on everyone's radar.
  13. Since Michigan put PSU in the passenger seat in 2022, nothing is a lock.
  14. Can't explain why, but Rutgers is taking 3 weeks off between its last dual and B1Gs.
  15. 99% of the time, replay decisions shut up the dissenters. 5 minutes is far too much time for wrestling. Football, maybe given the number of camera angles.
  16. Watch for random weight assignment with a loaded backend.
  17. 133: Sebastian Rivera: 1 seed, 13-2, never won a title Sebass went on to wrestle 2 more years for Rutgers. 2022 All-American and NCAA Bronze Medalist 2021 Finished fourth at 141 pounds at the Championships. Initially, the NCAA did not award the extra year for winter sports. Eventually, the NCAA changed the guideline for students that had registered for the fall 2020 term, but it didn't make the offer until October 2020 and after the registration period for the fall term had closed for all schools. The crime in all of this, those seniors that missed out on their final NCAA tournament were screwed while the incoming 2020 freshman were offered an extra 5th year without having lost a year.
  18. My second bout as a freshman was a doozy. We both shot low. His head smashed into my knee and fractured my kneecap which shredded a bunch of ligaments. My knee split his forehead open from the bridge of his nose to the top of his forehead. It's the only time I've seen or heard of both wrestlers being hauled off the mat on stretchers and off to the hospital. He went in for surgery immediately. My doc couldn't do anything until the following day. Suffice to say that ended my season with a 12' inch slice in my leg. I had intended to come back the next season. but my knee was still pretty wobbly. I played football that fall with an articulated knee brace that ran mid thigh to mid calf. It kills your 40 yard sprint times. The docs wouldn't let me wrestle without it, and the coaches wouldn't let me wrestle with it since it was a steel brace. It also killed my tennis game. I spent another year rehabbing it in the weight room and was able to play football without it. I planned to return to wrestling. Now I was up to 170 and it put me smack in the middle of 2 buddies and returning state placers. an 0-2 record and facing 2 top notch wrestlers kind of steered me time back onto the tennis court. I ran my tennis record up to 18-0 near the end of the season, then it happened. I moved laterally to return a cross court shot and my sneaker got hung up on the court surface and the force on my knee ended up retearing the MCL. Season done. Tennis career done. In football I had taken all sorts of hits with no problems, not even an ache, then a sneaker and a tennis court do me in. Not one to totally give up, my senior year I found baseball wasn't as stressful on the knees so I spent my senior season at second base, batted .380 and helped the team to the state championship. I don't watch baseball and tennis on the tube, but I will watch any NCAA wrestling and football event even if it's a rerun in July.
  19. They will likely prohibit a team medal count, the Russian flag and anthem, and relegate gold medals to the IOC flag with an inconsequential tune......if the athletes get lucky.
  20. Televised on C-SPAN but I think it's a CBS copy.
  21. The federal SSI account was well funded back in the 60's but Johnson needed cash to expand the Vietnam war. He proceeded to unlock the SSA safe and transfer the entire fund to the general treasury where it sits today.
  22. A highly underrated album
