  1. Steen hits a roll for an escape, 3-1 now.
  2. Steen ankle pick for the TD. End of the second.
  3. Almost a shot from Steen at about the two minute mark...
  4. Jeremy Goldman and Chris Muchacho (sp?) are the announcers today.
  5. Senior ceremony and announcements are over, we're back to dead air.
  6. Great question. Also, from these announcements it sounds as if there are some seniors who have never gotten on the mat except for Opens. Maybe this match is to let them have a least one Rec Hall experience? e.g. "Eddie Smith"
  7. Max Dean is married to a redhead.
  8. Ah, it's Senior Day. They are showing the ceremony.
  9. The feed has started from Rec Hall, but it looks like they are nowhere near starting, so you must be right about the 1pm start time. Don't know why BTN+ has decided to broadcast 30 minutes of dead air.
  10. That's a fun fact to know. Will be interesting to see if the gap has widened based on their college rooms, or stayed the same.
  11. Starts in about ten minutes on BTN+...
  12. This could have been my post! Wrestled one season (freshman) of high school wrestling. Was third on the depth chart of five 88-pounders (Yes, I'm that old). Lost every wrestle-off to the JV starter, who was also a freshman. Tortured by the varsity starter (a sophomore) in practice. Finally, late in the season, we had a dual against a team who also had three wrestlers, so he and I wrestled an exhibition match (in my practice gear, because you had to be a JV starter to get a singlet.) I took him down and rode him out, earning a 3-0 decision with riding time (Yes, I'm that old). Shortly thereafter broke my arm wrestling (in gym class!) so that was the end of my season. At the start of sophomore year there was this girl that I had a crush on, and she was trying out for the school play, so I went too. She failed the audition, but I got the lead, so, since after-school rehearsals conflicted with wrestling practice, that was the end of my wrestling career. Pretty sure that some invisible hand made sure that I ended up where my relative talents (and lack thereof) belonged. My son had a nice high school career, one of the best wrestlers on his team. But, whenever I thought he might be getting a big head I reminded him that his old man had retired from wrestling no only undefeated, but also unscored upon.
  13. Here were the predictions from the other thread. Could've made money betting on Carr: 1. Carr vs O'Toole David Carr 15 Kegan O'Toole 32 Carr Duck 5 O'Toole Duck 3
  14. Wasn't that comic originally called "Mat Men"?
  15. Your instincts are correct. Here are the data on parlays, from yesterday's Wall Street Journal: FanDuel, which controls about half of the national online betting market, according to Eilers & Krejcik, leads the industry due in part to its success capitalizing on parlays. Last October in Illinois, for example, seven out of every 10 bets placed at FanDuel was a parlay, according to data published by the state’s gaming board. FanDuel made about $29.60 for every $100 bet on parlays, compared with $4.80 for every $100 in non-parlay bets. N.B. Sorry to post about "FanDuel" rather than "FanDual". That's their name.
  16. Looked like Gomez thought he was going to be able to plant his foot coming down from the throw but Nichter did a great job keeping him. I had to flinch a little watching Gomez's head hit the mat, given his medical history. But undeniably great stuff to watch.
  17. Agreed. Also gets Pitzer and M. Stout on the same cycle. If Pitt can recruit some lightweights they can build a nice team.
  18. The Van Ness match did not look like a #13 vs a #18 match. Van Ness is either underrated or his opponent is overrated.
