  1. important point - I have decided to launch a full investigation. will report back when completed
  2. Glory gassed bad at the end of his match with Miller of Penn - even in the 2nd period. Miller road him harm for the 3rd. This was before his apparent injury v. Lehigh.
  3. Yes - that is some bullshit and remarkably frequent. Have these guys never been on bottom when someone has a leg hooked or two boots in?
  4. This is a good idea! Maybe make it so it only breaks the tie after the first OT period - that would make the 2 min OT period more productive and exciting. I wonder if NCAA rules committee is reading this board for all of its good ideas?
  5. Hypothetically: Harvard would be crushed and drop the sport as a varsity team. This would trigger a loss of Ivy league status to the sport (Dartmouth, Yale, and Harvard all out), and soon all Ivies would demote to club status. Without Ivies, EIWA would crumble. Army, Navy, Lehigh and Patriot league teams (like Lafayette from long ago) would move to club status. Despite NWCA's best efforts, after EIWA crumbles, other conferences call its quits and NCAA drops the NCAA championship in wrestling. All NCAA teams go to club. High school wrestling withers and dies and the sport becomes private clubs practicing freestyle only. Folkstyle is just a memory for old-timers on message boards.
  6. I do think he is better or as good as these awesome all-time great collegiate wrestlers. More dominant than Dake in many ways. I do not root for him, but respect for Yianni.
  7. Not all conferences have conference duals - EIWA has steady Ivy duals within EIWA and after that is it somewhat random. Also, medical forfeits are not all bad for the sport, even it they can be abused to duck a seeding risk. It is a rough sport and having wrestlers rest for some duals and heal from injury should not be penalized even if there are some disappointments and imperfections.
  8. I think these are all qualifers for NCAA tourney - at least the last time I checked.
  9. Hoping to watch some qualifier matches. Anticipating some fun matches: 174 EIWA Foca v. O'Malley - danger from all positions! B1G Carter Starocci v. Labriola - maybe not as much fun, but could be a good one 157 ACC Any of Andonian v. Scott v. O'Connor 165 - will Carr wrestle O'Toole in the qualifer? 285 - B1G semis - both should be good! 184 - Soldano is only a frosh, but can be fun - wonder if he busts the bracket 157 - How good is Haines - B1G should make it pretty clear!
  10. I did catch a match where Braxton Brown took it to a talented Dean Petersen of Rutgers - he was impressive and could be AA! Fun to watch too!
  11. Goldin with the OT TD - Penn wins 5 matches, but Cornell bonus pts carry the day. Hale over Loew the big suprise of the day - Loew hobbled by shoulder injury.
  12. Urbas take top - can he turn him?
  13. Might have been is known as an assasin. Foca has some funky stuff and is dangerous and entertaining.
  14. Penn probably pleased with the start - Cornell favored at all of the remaining bouts. Will not be easy to knock Cornell off the top of the EIWA unofficial dual standings.
  15. How many times was Mills pinned in his collegiate career and how many times was Lee pinned? Who had more pins?
  16. 6-3 team lead for Penn now, might not be easy to maintain this lead . . .
  17. Cornell pep band in the house - nice!
  18. 13-7 - fun match with lots of action
  19. Colaiocco with 4 escapes - that is something
  20. 6-1 Miller with a key td, ride out and two stall points in 3rd.
  21. #5 Cornell matches up very well against #25 Penn with Big Red stars countering many of the best on the Quaker team.
