  1. Howard bumps up to 133. Davis at 125. Steen should never sniff the lineup again barring multiple horrible injuries.
  2. Show me video evidence of the last time someone pinned using a spiral ride
  3. So a spiral ride or thigh pry should be called stalling then? Since you can’t pin someone with it.
  4. This is obviously insane as the Big 10 is by and far the best wrestling conference and is more likely to have 10 champs than none. But for the sake of fun, here are my picks, excluding all Big 10 wrestlers. 125 Glory 133 Fix 141 Alirez 149 Yianni 157 AOC 165 Carr 174 Lewis 184 Hidlay 197 Bonaccorsi HWT Hendrickson Looking back, this doesn't seem all that crazy actually...
  5. Iowa is a tough team. They will finish no lower than 2nd.
  6. It would be harder for 184 pounders to do so. But Dean is a small and short 197 pounder. Allred looked to be 2 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier (naturally).
  7. The problem is Dean isn't actually that great from neutral. He's got the left side single leg and that's about it. Very easy to scout and defend.
  8. I don't see Dean beating Allred. Here is why: 1. Allred is much bigger and longer than Dean. 2. Allred is better on his feet than Dean, by a lot. He took Dean down 3 times. 3. Allred can build a lead from neutral and avoid going on bottom. Allred's game plan is easy. Score 1 or 2 TDs in the first, don't pick bottom and win the match. For Dean to win he has to beat Allred in takedowns, which is going to be very hard for him.
  9. Lee is what he is. Teske starts with a tough Phillippi and then likely Aaron Nagao, who gave RBY a real challenge. Woods deservedly got the #1 seed. Murin really got the shaft - he has a 2nd round with Milner and then Yianni if he wins that one. Poor Max probably won't AA. Siebrecht has Model but then Robb 2nd round. Kennedy has Amine 2nd round and then Hamiti if he manages to win that one. Brands actually has a decent draw, given his seed. Assad got a decent draw too, given his seed. Warner gets Caffey first round and then Elam. Cass gets the 4 seed and might face Schultz in the quarters and Parris in the semis. Overall I'd say 6/10 of Iowa's guys got pretty unfavorable draws. Compare that to Penn State where I think only 2 guys (Brooks and Dean, especially) got unfavorable draws. It will be tough sledding for Iowa to win the team title with these draws.
  10. Brooks would have rather gotten the 4 to face Keck in the semis instead of Hidlay.
  11. The top seed also lost though. And lost to Brooks badly in the all star match.
  12. He beat the pants off the 1 seed earlier this year in an exhibition which obviously didn’t count.
  13. Penn State got pretty favorable seeds except for Brooks getting the 3. And Dean seeded at 9th means he’s expected to go from national champ last year to missing the podium altogether this year. Brutal weight.
  14. Matt Finesilver Matt Ramos Matt Olguin Matt Singleton
  15. Make the wrestlers wear red and green capes, respectively.
  16. Incredible that this was ruled a slam BY Waters and 1 point was awarded to Gilman.
  17. It could happen but it's not going to be a fresh face. If PSU falters Iowa will win it.
  18. Seems like a reasonable take. Penn State is similar: RBY, Starocci and Brooks should win it. Although none of the 3 is a lock like Spencer. Kerk I have making the finals. Haines should place top 5. Dean will be a 7 or 8 seed, I see him as a mid-low AA. The weight is brutal this year and he's just too damn small/short for 197. Bartlett I have as a low AA. SVN could be a low AA or R12 guy. Facundo might win a few matches. Or could go 0-2 BBQ.
