  1. I knew Kish wrestled for UM but did not know he was in coaching. Hopefully he can pull UO out of its funk. mspart
  2. Space X did what he wanted and a little more. Twitter, I'm not on twitter so I have no idea. Just what I read about it. So far, his payroll at Twitter is much lower than when he bought it. mspart
  3. I think the point here is that they could go somewhere else and end up getting to the Olympics and World Championships. If Myles and Zahid were to stay with US, that wouldn't happen without something extraordinary happening. mspart
  4. How long did we wait for the next Dan Gable? Was that Cael? Dan was supposed to go undefeated and ended up losing 1 match in college. Cael didn't lose any. That was a long time. Has there ever been anyone at lightweight as dominant as Lee? For having bum legs, he was phenomenal Lee was. mspart
  5. I agree. 10 weights in the Olys would be ideal. I would add Dake and Taylor to that list as well. Multiple time champs. Now if we could only get back to glory in GR. mspart
  6. Here's a question. Knowing Lee's history of injury, is anyone actually surprised he didn't finish the NCAA tourney? I wasn't . But I am kind of surprised he didn't finish the US Nationals. He must have been hurting. I did see his last match on youtube and he was 9-0 at the half and did not score 2nd period, did not really even come close. Something was amiss. mspart
  7. Gable just completely took the weight by storm. That was an awesome display of prowess. Any predictions on his ability to win Worlds this year? mspart
  8. True and harsh. But that is life in the jungle. Honestly I don't think Vito will lose to Lee. Not the way he is wresting right now. mspart
  9. So who is the next potential light weight 4 timer (almost)? That would be tough to get correct. mspart
  10. Well, he is concentrating on Space X now. Was he fiddling with Twitter and screwed something up in a spare moment? mpart
  11. Myles Amine has gotten medals and went elsewhere so he'd have that opportunity. Zahid might think about it. mspart
  12. No, when FILA went from double elimination to speed things up, all losers were out, single elimination. Except for the semi finalists. Only 3 semifinalists would get a medal. Winners of the semifinal would go for gold, losers would go for bronze, and there was only one Bronze. Now the system is if you lose to a finalist, you go into a repechage in order of when you lost to try to fight for a Bronze. The theory is that if you lost to the finalist, you might be better than losing to someone who lost to a non-finalist. Each side of the bracket gets a Bronze. mspart
  13. You have to admit, we are doing much better now than years ago in the worst drought we've had in the 2000s. It was bleak. Since JB, we have had at least one medalist since 2013 until now. And we have monsters on the team that are winning gold consistently. A great time to be a US Wrestling fan. mspart
  14. Well, FILA's first shot at it was worse. Losers of the semifinals fight for Bronze. Now at least losers to the finalists get another shot at Bronze. That is much more fair. mspart
  15. It has been the case since I've followed that the US Nationals Champ was in the finals of the WTTs or OTTs. Winner of the WTT tourney or OTT tourney would then face them in a best of 3. That is still sort of the case. That final is now called Final X. But in the past, medallists did not automatically place into that finals spot. Now that we have that, we have no WTT this year for 8 weights in MFS. That competition is always a highlight, if not a redo of the US Nationals. Gives another shot. We had a phenomenal year last year. 2021 we had 7 medalists so similar in nature. We have done very well internationally these last few years, much better than the drought of the 2000s. I guess we'll see how it plays out in 2023. mspart
  16. I think this is correct. It is just too bad he wasn't able to continue, a lot of people were looking for him to be successful. Maybe he was successful based on his goals and objectives. Again, he now has a full year to recover and gain strength in his knees and psyche. Best of luck to him. mspart
  17. Will the Argentinian brute Destribats be there? Right in his home. mspart
  18. Honestly, I don't like the multiple racking up of points via leg lace or other move. But there is some truth to the don't get in it. I remember at US Nationals many years ago, someone got Joe Williams in a very deep leg lace. Joe would not move. No matter how much leverage was put on, he did not roll. I couldn't believe it. I don't remember who tried it on him but I remember that very clearly. mspart
  19. I remember that!!!! mspart
  20. I'm still trying to figure out the venue argument. Is it the venue, the location, the amount of seating, the number of valets? mspart
  21. Yes he is but not for what you think. He has "quit" two major tourneys in the middle of them. Not something you want to be famous for I'm guessing. This is no knock on Lee from my standpoint. He has apparently misjudged his physical health and not been able to continue. I hope that he will heal up in the next year. I did not see Vito at US OPEN but I did see footage at NCAA finals. I don't think there is anyone that beats Vito currently. He made RBY look like he didn't belong in the finals. And a tech fall against DeSanto in under a minute? This guy is on another level in my opinion. The sky is the limit for Vito. mspart
  22. Seems kind of quick. It must have been a fluke!! mspart
  23. Nope not that. It was just a great place to live and play. mspart
  24. Not sure what you are saying, "doing away with these programs", but when you lend to a person that does not have a history of being able to pay loans off, you are asking for trouble, like what culminated in 2008. That was the lesson we were supposed to re-learn. But they just can't leave that idea to die. mspart
  25. I tell you what. That 4 years went by really really fast. mspart
