  1. Seeing how this map is vague, it is not of much use other than to say it indicates the USA remains the main destination, which bolsters the claim it is the "Last Beacon of Hope" or "Preferred beacon of hope", and that there are growing areas producing migrants and they go to places that are closer to home but better than home. You can see that very clearly. Light Red areas (migrant producers) are pretty much adjacent to newer centers of migration growth. I did notice that you did not refute my position on your statement. Must not have been as good as you thought in retrospect. Upshot is with this post, you are trying to deny that most immigrants come to the US and the reason why. There is a reason for it and I'll leave it to you to figure it out. mspart
  2. Great show@!!. The people of West Germany did not like it to be fair. I doubt the people of East Germany ever saw it. mspart
  3. https://jonathanturley.org/2023/08/09/how-donald-trumps-indictment-could-backfire-on-joe-biden/ Interesting take by Jonathan Turley. He is saying that the same accusations against Trump, could be levied against Biden. Trump is being indicted for knowingly saying false things about the election, to put it simply. The same could be used against Biden for knowingly saying false things about his knowledge and participation in his son's business dealings. Again, I don't think Biden will run for President again. Only Ds and very few I's will vote for him if this narrative keeps growing which it has been doing over the past 6 months plus. R's and most I's won't vote for him I don't think. And any presidential candidate will need to attract the I's. I'm guessing fair minded I's will not want to be voting for Biden because of: a) He's very old b) He is not very sharp and has physically regressed c) It appears he is part of an influence peddling scheme that most fair minded Americans find abhorrent. mspart
  4. I don't think you are mistaken, that was a R talking point about Weiss not being in control of the investigation to where it lead him. So he can now do that presumably. mspart
  5. Except they reported on a PBS interview with Dr Katelyn Jetelina that said these things. She, the Dr, is part of the actual medical professionals and she actually said these things. You may read her saying the same thing here: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/rising-covid-hospitalizations-point-to-another-summer-surge-in-infections Is this also an internet garbage website? mspart
  6. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4148990-attorney-general-appoints-hunter-biden-special-counsel/ Yes, a special counsel has been appointed and it is David Weiss. Same guy who has been investigating. Are the R's in Congress providing the impetus to do this? They have certainly shed unwanted light on Hunter and Joe. I think the timing is very interesting and comes as a result of the Congressional inquiry and the plea deal that has disintegrated that would have been a special treatment for Hunter. So what special powers will David Weiss have now that he is a "special counsel"? I am asking an honest question here. I don't know what is different is for David Weiss. mspart
  7. I'll probably have canned corn tonight. Beef ribs sounds a might better. mspart
  8. I see what you are saying, but you are skipping Mexico as being part of North America and you started this with talking about Central and South America as well. Where is their representation? 23 USA and 1 Canada? That's not even all of NA. Plus you left out Seattle. You do that at your peril!! Interesting idea anyway. mspart
  9. Based on this map, I'd say millions of people disagree with you. "Last Beacon of Hope" or "Preferred beacon of hope", whichever you want to call it, millions and millions seem to come to the USA as compared to anywhere else. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/immigration-by-country
  10. Lawnmower vs brisket. I know which one wins!! mspart
  11. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/biden-fox-news-reporter-peter-doocy-b2390713.html [Peter] Doocy [of Fox News] asked the president, “There’s this testimony now where one of your son’s former business associates is claiming that you were on speakerphone a lot with them talking business. Is that what…” Mr Biden hit back, saying, “I never talked business anybody, and I knew you’d have a lousy question.” “Well, what, why is that a lousy question?” responded Doocy. The president said “because it’s not true”. That's all that Biden has to respond to this question? It's a lousy question? Especially after the testimony of his former pal Devon Archer? I heard on the radio that later the WH called Doocy and told him that question is out of bounds. The real question is why did he lie about this this whole time. Biden can either answer the question or he will be forced to answer it. Again, I don't think he will survive this and will not run in 2024. Ds will demand it. mspart
  12. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-12390725/Doctor-PBS-says-people-start-masking-amid-small-Covid-uptick-HOME.html No she's not hyperbolic. She's just very concerned as we all should be. And yes this in Aug 2023. This is an example of bringing out the old standby and trying to scare people without real cause. Eris covid strikes easy as is expected with virus evolution, but is much less deadly. Same old play really. mspart
  13. I got my data from US sources. It is not that difficult to find the actual facts. Google - US covid deaths by age https://www.statista.com/statistics/1191568/reported-deaths-from-covid-by-age-us/ Google - US covid cases by age https://www.statista.com/statistics/1254271/us-total-number-of-covid-cases-by-age-group/ These searches will give you the data I showed above earlier. All it does is show a gross picture of what is happening. The numbers are big. Only when you calculate the rates do you begin to see the underwhelming truth of how horrible it wasn't. Granted it put a lot of people under. But most of those were older and/or susceptible to disease due to comorbidities. The young meaning 50 and younger generally had nothing to fear from Covid. But the hysteria over it does not share that reality. If you had it, and entered society, you were walking death for everyone around you, as personified by Rachel Maddow. The actual fact of the matter is that, no you weren't. The actual fact is if you had it, most people you contacted would not get it. Of those unfortunate enough that would get it, very very few would succumb. Many people that died in the early stages died of dehydration and malnutrition because they were in the hospital and no one wanted to go near because it was almost certain death to do so. Saying that, the first version was deadlier than later versions as the virus lost its virulence as it mutated as predicted by rational people. Irrational people continued to think it was existential to the point that they wanted 6 month olds vaccinated. My mother died in early Feb 2020 of pancreatic cancer. Just before the covid shutdown. We buried her end of Feb and made ready for a memorial for her where she lived in a retirement place. I prepared a short eulogy and was told no one from the outside was allowed in the bldg. This was early Mar 2020. I said, ok, and sent them the eulogy that they could share with all the residents who were friends with my mom. I heard nothing so I called a week later and within those few days, the facility was completely shut down and residents were not allowed to leave their apartments. The memorial was never done. I feel very blessed for me and my sisters and brother that my mother died before all that and I feel like it was a blessing for her also. How horrible that time was for elderly folks who fell ill. We could only hold a funeral where extended family could come in Aug 2020. We were on our way when we got a call from someone that said my daughter had covid. So we stopped in LaGrande Oregon and asked my sisters what they thought. They were all above 60 and one with diabetes. They each in their own way said not to come. So I missed meeting with my cousins and siblings and extended family because of that. We watched it on youtube live in the hotel room. My daughter never showed any symptoms. We stayed the night and headed back home the next day. My boys were scared to death to be around her. The hysteria had gotten to them. Remember, young people had nothing to fear from covid but they were indoctrinated that it was certain death to get it. They had to be in a separate hotel room from her because of that. The ride home in the same car was tense. She stayed with me and my wife that night. My niece got covid in NYC in 2020 where she lived and had difficulty breathing for days. Unless near death, she was told not to come to the hospital. She recovered but it was a tough bug. She got the first wave. Students at UW at a certain apartment bldg got covid and they were locked down. None died. Few showed symptoms. Granted that is anecdotal, but that was the experience nationwide. Young people could get it but it either showed no symptoms or was a mild to bad cold. mspart
  14. Never had CE until I was a volunteer asst coach in Apple Valley (not that HS, the other one there) and those guys went rough, they had headgear but I didn't. Soon my ear started hurting. It kept hurting so I finally went to the doc. He said if I had come in sooner he could have drained it. I was too late. It is slight and most people would not notice, but astute observers would be able to see it. I went to Veterans nationals in 2002 I think and was in the first aid tent with a friend who was getting stitches. A Senior level guy came in with the most brutal ears I have seen personally. Why was he in there? To get one drained. With those ears I thought? What's the point? His ears were a mess. Not like the Steiner twins but they were pretty bad. Like I said, they were the worst I have personally seen. mspart
  15. Ionel - Looking at it that way, not a bad thing. Lipdrag - I guess he is brilliant!! mspart
  16. Correction: I was off by 10x. Now I am not off at all. Granted that last statement is subject to opinion. mspart
  17. So it will be essentially against the law for him to talk about the indictments against him? The Ds want to put him in jail and muzzle him while doing so. All on the up and up. This is a federal issue of retaliation against a former president running again and he doesn't have a right to call that out in his campaigning? And the American people don't have a right to know about it? That's essentially what they are trying to do. mspart
  18. I smoke all my meats with cottonwood and hemlock. mspart
  19. Everyone, Brother BB just got out of exile. I'm not saying go easy on him, but he is a brother and should be on these boards. Brother BB - Hang in there man. You are doing fine as far as I can see. mspart
