  1. I'm aware of this which is why it is so surprising that his politics trumps his economics. He has left economic analysis at the alter of left wing politics. Astounding really. He never admits he is wrong. If you can find even a few things that he got right, that would be something. https://seekingalpha.com/article/556041-why-new-york-times-economist-paul-krugman-is-partly-right-but-mostly-wrong mspart
  2. There is a lot of "supposing" on Krugman's part. He does not even talk about the boomer situation, the lessening of the labor pool or anything regarding hard facts. He does suggest that we socialize medicine so that: It's not at all hard to imagine that improving the incentives to focus on medically effective care could limit cost growth to well below what the CBO is projecting, even now. The extent of his analysis is to imagine. To imagine that we focus on medically effective care, trigger words meaning rationing of medical care. We need to get rid of as many boomers as we can so that we are not spending so much. There, I just decoded Krugman for you. Assuming nothing changes, SS will be spending more than it brings in in just a few years. Taxes will necessarily have to rise because now the general budget will be paying for SS benefits. Or general budget spending will have to decrease. Or, age of benefit will have to rise. Those are the choices. Krugman's thesis that we don't have to do anything is wishful thinking. He is wrong and common sense tells anyone with thought process that this is true. If we do nothing, SS and Medicare spending will come out of the general budget. If that happens, we either just call it debt, or we raise taxes to pay for it. Or to keep SS solvent, SS taxes will have to rise either by rate increase or by salary increase or raise the age of retirement. Isn't it 72 right now? Seems high really. These are the ways to keep SS alive. Doing nothing just raises the debt. Krugman is probably the last person you want to go to for economic predictions. His win-loss record is pretty low. mspart
  3. Krugman has such a strong history of being correct. https://www.yahoo.com/video/paul-krugman-always-wrong-never-173530058.html mspart
  4. How would it work? Perhaps she has not thought that through really. mspart
  5. Is UWW worse than FILA? I like the situation under UWW better than what FILA gave us. mspart
  6. Those ARE the goatiest goats of all goats. msaprt
  7. If the rankings are any good at all, they could just include the top 32 and fill the bracket. That way conferences don't get auto bids, the top guys do. As in the case of 149, pac -12 should send 3. Maybe the correction takes this into account. Just seems like a weird way to do it. Yes, I understand B1G is the best and will have the most qualifiers. I think doing this by conference is wrong. Do it by individual ranking, if those are any good at all. mspart
  8. PAC 12 and others getting only one person at a weight, seems not right. Maybe at large takes care of any inequities. But doesn't seem right to me. They should take top 2 at the least. mspart
  9. Did The Mat have a forum? I don't remember that. mspart
  10. Spencer Lee loses in the first round. Yianni loses in the second round. mspart
  11. will we relive a Nashon ADS match. If so, will Nashon be ready to seal the deal quickly this time? mspart

  13. When are you opening up a shop? mspart
  14. Correct. Dan Gable was a for sure 3 timer until he wasn't. Conversations like these are premature. We can point to 3 timers going for their 4th and say each one was successful. Until one of them isn't. I think Lee will do it, but that does not make it so. He has to go out and earn it. Hopefully he stays healthy and can give it the old college try. Him having the GOAT talk show is also premature and stupid in my opinion. But that is just my opinion. mspart
  15. PSU almost always wrestles better than their seeds. Okie St has not. Just saying. Given this about PSU, you can't count them out, but it does not look probable. But if they decide to cut loose and just have fun, they might do it. mspart
  16. If I'm sensitive because i think Khan was barbaric, brutal, and a 1st degree murderer, then I'll be sensitive. My guess is that those living under his rule probably felt similar before losing their lives to him. mspart
  17. Lots of Mom and Pop Thai food, and Italian food etc. But no mom and pop pizza food. mspart
  18. Yeah, we have no real mom and pop shops here in the PNW. True. mspart
  19. Papa Murphy's is pretty good. No too much grease. In fact, we later found a place called Papa Aldo's (which merged with Papa Murphy's or became that), funny you mention that. mspart
  20. Classic projection. Look in the mirror LJB and say to yourself, "this applies to me as well". You are very lucky to be living now. That goes without saying. You would have a pretty rough life in any other time in history other than the last 100 years. Again goes without saying. What standards of today am I using to condemn Genghis Khan for his brutality of 1000 years ago? Was he not brutal? Was he not the killer of millions upon millions of people? Did those people have it coming? Is he a saint for having killed so many people? By what standard can you use to excuse his killing and brutality? He had a choice just like all of us do, kill people pretty much indiscriminately or don't. Does he have no blame for choosing the former? Surely based on your post, you can easily answer these questions. mspart
  21. When I was in college, we ate Dominos because it was so cheap. After a while, we got sick of how bad it was and stopped buying. I hadn't bought Dominos for decades after because of that. Then my kids said it was good and so I tried it and it was much better. But now, it is just too greasy and lacking in toppings, it is getting back to those old cardboard days. Their stock tumbled recently, makes me wonder if others are similarly affected. mspart
  22. Nice Ad hominem. Its almost like you have no knowledge or understanding of what you are talking about. You are essentially saying he was compassionate by not killing everyone in sight if they did what he wanted. And that is good. He was a good guy that allowed people to live their life and exercise their religion as long as they submitted to him. He was very tolerant because of this. Don't comply, you're dead. Much to admire there. Are you saying there is much to admire that the annihilation of 40 million people is outweighed by his compassion? mspart
