  1. He may do that. That would not be a strange thought. He could run as independent or as Trump Party or something else. I can see him doing this. Which would split the conservative vote and hand the election to the Ds. mspart
  2. Yeah, that's a pretty good rental house for the owner. Are there places that actually charge that much? Or is this something else? No family discount? mspart
  3. The FEC already investigated and found nothing that could be prosecuted. They are the watchdog for campaign cash violations. So then why is the DA trying again? Is he better than the FEC? This case hinges on payments to Stormy Daniels. FEC investigated it and found nothing to prosecute over. This is most likely the basis for RYou's post a little earlier that has everyone jumpy since. mspart
  4. This is true, but even without the hearing, they are legal residents as it is being exercised now. They don't have asylum but they can stay in the US until the hearing legally without being deported. They are supposed to show up for the hearing. According to recent studies, most do. But the backlog is immense. mspart
  5. You might read the first sentence I wrote to you in rebuttal. Again, I never addressed free speech, I addressed censorship by Twitter and Facebook at the behest of the US Federal Government. If you don't want to acknowledge it happened as I described, that is your prerogative. But that does not mean it is untrue. The US government getting Twitter and Facebook, to censor items that are true but inconvenient, is not the role the US government should be taking. Do you agree? mspart
  6. You think he honestly will go to prison? If that happens, watch what you wish for. mspart
  7. I am not one that believes Trump has this locked up. He is one or two gaffes away from losing it all. If he calls nicky haley horseface, that would probably be too much. I think Trump will shoot himself in the foot and I don't think it will happen late in the game. I think in all reality, this is DeSantis' nomination to lose. He is as combative as Trump without being a jerk about it. mspart
  8. Obviously, they all have room to improve. Like a lot of room. mspart
  9. Until one faster showed up. Then RBY looked slow. mspart
  10. Vito put on an incredible show making RBY look like he did not belong in there. That's quite the statement to make and he did so forcefully. mspart
  11. Actually 8 of 10 3rd placers this time lost in the championship semi finals. That's the data for what its worth. mspart
  12. Was it worth it for Lee to forfeit if it saved his knees from further danger and allow his Olympic aspirations to take flight? I'm guessing this was his thought process. mspart
  13. Yeah, that's what I remember!! mspart
  14. I said nothing about first amendment rights. Why derail with a baseless accusatory question. Who do you know that defends to the death someone's right to free speech these days? Are you denying that Twitter and Facebook banned and censored? If so you are living in dream world. Look at college campuses. Protests are one thing but what happened at UC Davis just recently does not constitute a protest. Egg throwing, pepper spraying, cop beating, these are not people willing to defend your right to say what is on your mind. And this is not isolated to UC Davis. You can google it and find examples of excessive protests that move to assault based on who is speaking. https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article273154315.html The ideal of stating your opinion and that being the end of it is no longer valid. You have people on this board who slammed Pres Trump from attending the NCAAs, who vociferously wanted Brooks not to say what he said and think he should be expelled for breaking PSU code of conduct rules. Are they these saints you think who protect free speech? You can state your opinion on Twitter or Facebook as long as it doesn't contradict what the monitors and algorithms want you to say. If you disagree with that statement, you are not paying attention. NYPost was a big loser with their Hunter Biden story. It was cleared out of Twitter and every post defending it was erased as well. The subject could not be discussed. It was Russia disinformation except it wasn't. FBI has acknowledged that the laptop belonged to Hunter and Hunter is even suing about it, acknowledging that it is his laptop. Else why would he sue? But you could not say that on Twitter or Facebook after the NY Post story broke. Wasn't allowed. But they will fight to the death to protect your right to speak your mind. Yeah right. And the last of the Twitter files from Taibi show that the Federal Government was in on the censoring. By understood law, that is not allowed. Yet it was and is. Where do you find the reporting on this from Taibi? You will not find it on Mainstream media because they don't want to discuss it. You can find it at Fox, NY Post, Twitter and not much else. https://www.foxnews.com/media/latest-twitter-files-tackle-great-covid-19-lie-machine-flagging-true-content-disinformation https://nypost.com/2023/03/17/private-federal-censorship-machine-targeted-true-misinformation/ https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/mar/17/twitter-files-vast-censor-project-unleashed-agains/ As for the Hunter Biden laptop issue, please see the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter_Biden_laptop_controversy https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/03/17/hunter-biden-lawsuit-computer-repairman/ mspart
  15. I would agree. Except Trump can easily knock himself out of contention even without DeSantis. All he has to do is go off script with one of his crazy things he says and I think it will remind everyone how much he can derail himself. mspart
  16. Yes it has happened before. Those that did it are incredible I think. mspart
  17. I can be on board with this train of thought. But that is not where Jammen was coming from I suspect. But I could be wrong. mspart
  18. That does not apply anymore. It is a great ideal. It was all the rage in the 90s. A mere 20 years from then and we are on the other side where what you say can get you banned from Twitter and Facebook and have lasting consequences from one of the intolerant sides of the political debate. mspart
  19. Jammen, If they said that, I'm wondering why that would be offensive to you. If any other ex-President showed up and NCAA said the same thing, would you have a problem with that? Do you have a problem with Trump attending, or would it be offensive to you for any ex- President to attend? I'm really not sure where you are trying to go with this. I said Trump can go where he wants as a private citizen. He should not be excluded, as long as he pays the entry fee, he is free to attend. People are free to attend too. If it had been Obama, would the NCAA be wrong to point that out and suggest folks get a pic with him? Other than invading his privacy (which may have been the intent to which you would applaud I'm sure), what harm is there in doing that? mspart
  20. Looking at the brackets I am always interested who lost their first match and made it to AA. It appears that only one person did that this year. 184 (11) Gavin Kane UNC - took 8th. There were a number of folks that AA'd after winning their first match but losing their second. But I am only listing the guy that went the furthest after losing their first match. I say congrats to Gavin in his Herculean effort to come back from a 1st round loss and come back to AA. mspart
  21. As for the Primary being insane, we have Trump, Ramaswami (sp), and Haley so far. Doesn't sound like a huge barn burner to me. What I do think will happen is Trump will overshoot and folks will just be sick of him. I have to say I liked what he did from a policy point of view while in office, but I do not like the man. I wish he would just go away. mspart
  22. DeSantis hasn't even said he is running and the attack dogs are already on the move. Crazy. mspart
  23. Yeah, I noticed that too. As for any controversy, Trump is a private citizen and can go where he wants. He pays the entry fee, he gets in. It really is pretty simple. Making this about politics is ridiculous. Did anything happen that wouldn't have happened if Trump was not there? In a bad way I mean, other than folks wanting to get an autograph or a pic. mspart
  24. It is Monday now and I am going to go out on a limb and and say Sasso did not prevail. Just a guess on my part, but I think I have good reason to say so. mspart
