  1. Baloney. Between my years as an undergraduate, graduate student, and 28 years of teaching sociology (combined, well over 30 years in the social sciences), I've only encountered this idea of "critical race theory" (whatever that is) once in a textbook that only referenced the idea. Yes, there is a theory in sociology called Critical theory, but it's not the same theory. So, in other words, NO< no one is teaching this mythical "critical race theory, at least in the social sciences. And, even is they are, so what? Does education threaten you THAT much?
  2. So, you're ok with these people threatening school board members because they are trying to help in the education of children? If so, why? Parents have always had a say in their childrens' education. I certainly did. It's called attending parent/teacher conferences, assisting the kids at hoe with their work, and knowing the content of information that your kids are being taught. That's REAL involvement, not going to meetings to threaten people and cream like HUD McVeigh Hannity, for God's sake.
  3. Of course I know what "prompted" it. I'm a 28 year educator myself, and I'm very aware that what "prompted" it was misinformation about what educators actually do, and, more importantly, actually teach. Nothing more irresponsible than feeding angry, uninformed people misinformation and blowing the dog whistles for them to threaten poor souls who volunteer their times to their communities and their schools. You should be ashamed to align yourself with terrorists
  4. Been a Jethro Tull fan for 40+ years. If you don't know the song, keep listening and you'll hear our theme continue. Among several of their best songs no one has ever heard.
  5. My youngest son is the one that poses this question to music fans, and he has finally added a third to his list. Forever, he had Ozzy and Michael Jackson only. After this morning, when he and I discussed, Elvis, he now has a third (and he loathes Elvis). I have several reservations with this exercise, but one that I can't escape is how I am very ignorant of classical and jazz styles of music. I just KNOW that I'm not doing this justice by not taking into account these styles, particularly classical music.
  6. Bill was likely at several Dead shows in my days when I was involved. He's a good soul, as the documentary showed.
  7. Sounds like you're condoning it. Good for you! However, the larger pernt is that if anyone is wondering why poor little uninformed parents are being "targeted" by the big bad police meanies, I simply provided some perspective as to exactly why it's happening.
  8. Why are you asking me that? You were there over twenty years ago when I told the tale of my name. No bans even remotely called for by me.
  9. As I posted earlier, quite a bit more going on than what AM radio is feeding people. https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-education-threats/
  10. No, you're the one that keeps claiming something about basketball and my name with each post that I make about basketball. So, as long as you know what's behind the name, please enlighten us. Plus, you WERE there all those years ago when people would ask about it, so enlighten us. Whatcha got?
  11. I don't think that applies to using titles, but I could be wrong.
  12. (Insert favorite dumb guy laugh now to insult the stupid among us)... ...Yes, he is. As I said to you before, you apparently weren't around 20 years ago when I would tell the story of my name almost daily. To cut to the chase, I'm ok with basketball. As a matter of fact, when I quit wrestling in junior high I converted to basketball in high school.
  13. Like it matters. Only deep thinkers post on this one, eh, boy?
  14. Seen it three times all of the way through. Highly recommended for sports and Walton fans.
  15. How the heck did several members of my family, myself included, NOT think of Elvis!? He's immediately #2 for me. And, most surprisingly, I'm not even remotely an Elvis fan. Never listen to him.
  16. I'll keep adding if and when I come up with more, but, for now, I will commit to these two. That's all that I have for now. 1. Bob Dylan 2. Elvis
  17. Yeah, "choking" is probably too harsh a term for a sport like wrestling.
  18. That's beside the fact that he was often ranked #1 but never produced #1. I'll never question his talent, but if you don't live to your rank...
