  1. Crap, now I have to go back through FRLs to find it. I think it was 868 or 870. But stay tuned.
  2. Their stated reason for not including injury defaults is that the NCAA does not include injury defaults. They have also stated that when the NCAA includes injury defaults, so will they. So why include other matches that the NCAA does not include? It has nothing to do with ease of interpretation.
  3. The point is that Flo vehemently denies that rankings are opinions and then they make choices that contradict that position.
  4. Let's talk about the ongoing silliness that is the Flo rankings policy. They will not include an injury default, including those that occur after the match starts, because "the match didn't happen according to the NCAA, if the NCAA includes them we will" (that was a Christian Pyles paraphrase from a recent FRL). But another match that did not happen according to the NCAA, the All-Star Challenge, they do include. Anyone care to offer a theory why they would do that? Anyone care to offer a theory on how that theory interacts with their prior statements about the objectiveness of their approach?
  5. Penn State had a good week and their expected lead has grown along with their expected number of All-Americans per Intermat Flo has the lead pretty much unchanged, but doesn't like Iowa as much (they are also the only service that is including the All-Star Classic in their rankings) I am never really sure what to say about Wrestlestat
  6. And you call yourself a PSU fan? The original plan was for Munoz to wrestle Brooks in the dual and have McKinney wrestle Ball in an extra match. But Munoz was hurt so they agreed to make McKinney/Ball the dual match and sit Brooks.
  7. If I was going you would have a ride, but not going to make it this year.
  8. Collegiate duals. https://intermatwrestle.com/articles/26203
  9. Most importantly, if your in college pronouncing the G leads to cool possibilities. You can be G, or an OG, even G Money. Way cooler than being just another feller.
  10. I have no idea what is right, but I have only ever heard it pronounced guh-feller and gee-feller.
  11. Kerkvliet is scary big. They said he weighed in at 251.
  12. I don't know what his walking around weight is, but I feel like that might be a tough pull. Maybe if he transfers to Oklahoma State.
  13. I'm not even sure that would have gotten the job done.
  14. Someone needs to talk to McKinney about the advisability of that 'do.
  15. The Clash at the Aragon Ballroom (Brawlroom) in '82
  16. Yep, it is clear that 149 was a compromise last year. He could not dislodge Nick Lee so that was his next best option.
  17. He had it for a good part of last year. Wrestled the final against Fix with it if I recall correctly.
  18. Starroci appears to have taken umbrage on Olmos grabbing his face. Those last few seconds of forearm to the back of the head and then hand to the back of the head seemed to be a little payback.
  19. Bartlett's attacks, when they finally come, are so lightning fast I wish he would pull the trigger more often.
  20. The shortest distance between two points is a line. Trend is sometimes short for trend line. Draw your own conclusions.
  21. I was looking at the few membership financial report system replrts I could find online and they just report the number of scholarships and dollars used. Edinboro used 3.51 in 2019 and Rutgers used 9.81 in 2022, for example. But there is nothing there about the number of wrestlers receiving that aid. If I recall correctly, back on themat someome had posted a link to all the MFRS reports. If you are reading this cam you share that link again?
  22. Reading the Burwick thread got me thinking. With slightly fewer scholarships than starters (9.9 vs 10) and the ability to hand out partial scholarships in wrestling, does anyone know how frequently a wrestler is on a full ride? I know some schools do not even use their 9.9, and I know some wrestlers who were top 10 pound for pound that did not get a full ride (though perhaps it was available elsewhere) so I am assuming it is not very common.
  23. Do we see a different strategy from Mekhi Lewis come NCAA's? At the last NCAA and in this match at the start of the 2nd period once Starocci gets to his feet Lewis gives up on the ride. At NCAA he started out looking to ride, but gave up pretty quickly, getting 10 or 11 seconds of RT at the start of the second and in this match he seems even less committed to the ride.
