  1. YES! Then any Marine Infantry in the crowd will have something good to eat instead of the concession stand stuff!
  2. "...he's a legacy from Harrisburg*." (*could have been Edmund Ruth!)
  3. The big difference between the 50s-60s (even into the early 2000s) is that - for the most part - wrestlers arriving on college campuses have had hundreds of matches as kids and high schoolers. 15-20 matches instead of 40 is probably a better roi for how some college coaches view what's best for their wrestlers and programs. If the practice room is tougher than most tournaments and the work is getting put in, it looks like programs have put that over the stress of travel and multiple weigh-ins.
  4. "Super Troopers" does have the line, "Yeah, well, you don't weigh-in, you don't wrestle!" = wrestling movie!
  5. Uh, the Josh's went a little further west than Iowa City.
  6. Same with the other college/university in Ithaca.
  7. Daniel Cormier - World and Cadet Freestyle Bronze 6 X US Open Freestyle Champ 2 X Olympian (4th in 04) NCAA finalist (Sanderson) UFC Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion
  8. As both of these universities are named after people, can this be a "duel"?
  9. I was expecting something related to David Bowie on a wrestling forum talking about how Johnny was cutting weight and wanted to "suck on a Coke."!
  10. Dual is not wrong, as it is TWO teams wrestling against each other to determine the outcome of a/the match. I coach and it is listed as Dual Meet on the schedule (as it always has been). Dual tournaments are also included (I haven't seen anything on track or flow as duel meet tournaments, either. Here's an event completed earlier this month: NWCA/USMC Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships Duel by definition isn't technically incorrect, but it is more-or-less the mouth-breather way of stating Dual Meet.
  11. John Smith is Italian from his mother's side. The ginzness didn't really matter.
  12. Sanderson has had a number of freshmen finalists (9-10?) and 4 have won it, so it won't be too much of a surprise if Davis or Mess make it to the championship match, but it will be if they win. Crookham has a win over the defending National Champ at the weight. Shapiro is an elite talent, but those CKLV losses... I lean Crookham.
  13. "Bravo, Old boy. Jolly good show putting that bloke in the drink!"
  14. PA Boom (or some form of that name) use to post on themat/usawrestling...
  15. Is it merely a coincidence that Ford just announced a recall on the Focus?
  16. I was there last year; St. Elmo's does not disappoint - and a trip to the "Slippery Noodle" afterwards makes for a great night!
  17. Platoon 3092 being at MCRDPI during Christmas in Full Metal Jacket = Christmas Movie!
  18. Not sure about a Stevenson comparison, maybe something closer to Zane Rutherford...
  19. It may have been confirmed elsewhere, but (apparently), Cael and Casey are as tall sitting down as Tom & Terry are standing up.
  20. I'm with Jimmy on this. The 1st weekend of December is always the best barometer for the season and how mid-March shapes up as a whole. Jimmy needs to see if MM is big enough for 65s, because he's an expert on this (he already pointed out how Brooks was too small for 184, so he's hedging his bet by stating Brooks makes the finals at 197 - this way he can point out how he already posted that he was too small if he doesn't, but here he has him typed into the finals if he does - well played JC; I'm sure you do really well at the blackjack tables). After such a lackluster performance against the Bethlehem builders' school yesterday, it's obvious PSU will not contend for a title and that the Sanderson cabal should all be fired. 7/10 on your troll meter...
