  1. As someone with two young kids, I’m really surprised that Gilman doesn’t “get it” yet. It seemed like he had become a different guy, for a while. Like some of that German philosophy had finally rubbed off on him. Oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Directed energy weapons like power lines? Why is the extremely likely (high winds, resulting power lines falling on dead sugar cane) explanation so easily discounted? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just had a great Yarygin. Will likely be in State College this summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I’m still waiting for clarification from Willie. Did an EMP cause the Maui fire, while also simultaneously NOT harming any cell phones in the area? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That would be sad. They are the two best guys at the weight by a clear margin. Yaz will have to make the team, and he supposedly had shoulder surgery a couple months back. Don’t know specifics but that’s generally a thing that keeps you out of training for a while. So, who knows if he’ll even be Iran’s rep. Also, Kurugliev transferred to Greece and I think one more good Russian 86kg left. The guy Brooks beat at U23s will likely be Russia’s guy. Amine has medaled two times. He’s hardly a lock and it’s super draw-dependent. If he ends up on a theoretical DT + Yaz side, no medal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. NLWC will have more medalists than CKWC has quarter finalists. Now, Myles Amine may make some hay on the back side and make a 3-5 match after getting teched by DT or Yazdani, but he’s not going to outscore any of DT, Dake or Snyder. Same with Parris, if he makes the team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How would the US do that? Freedom of association is still a thing when last I checked. Bill of Rights and all that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes. Top 2 go. They don’t wrestle the winners of each semi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. There are no finals. RBY is an Olympian! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Pick up a Russian coach or two recently? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hasn’t beaten any top 10 guys and only wrestled one. Should get seeded on the same side as Smith from MD so he’ll get another one there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Apparently, Davis endured a minute of getting sprayed with Axe body spray to get three points of extra credit in his economics class. Pulled a 4.0 his first semester. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If you ever get a chance, the 10th Mountain museum at Vail is pretty cool. The one at Ft. Drum is better, but, it’s at Drum, and that sucks. Plenty of other cool 10th Mountain stuff around. Breckenridge has a nice memorial, and at the top of Tennessee Pass there’s a tablet with all of the names of those KIA/MIA from WWII. Camp Hale, too, obviously. Many of the CO resorts have some connection, and many of them have a memorial of some sort. Steamboat, Aspen, A-Basin, etc. There’s also random stuff down in northern Georgia, in the Dahlonega area where 5th Ranger Training Battalion is located. Didn’t have access to my cell phone when I was there, though. Chrystal Mountain, WA has some material, but never seen it. They have a 10th MTN ski day as well. Tennessee Pass, Ski Cooper, between Leadville and Vail: Pando/Camp Hale, north of Tennessee Pass: Breck:
  14. Seems pretty likely, yeah. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they send out Shunk, Evans, Claw, one of the Lees, Donovan Ball, and a good number of other backups.
  15. And you think Kerk ducked...checks notes...Slavikouski, from Rutgers? The guy that PSU's backup 197 beat? Oh, ok.
  16. Huh? This one is Mylar, carrying a 2’ cube. This is last year: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Chinese_balloon_incident It’s white (not Mylar), carrying a solar array 40’ across and carrying multiple payloads bigger than the entire payload in this incident. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Given that the descriptions of the balloons and their payloads is distinctly different, saying that it’s “obviously the same thing” is a dramatic statement that is pretty demonstrably false. And, why wouldn’t “we” know about it? It’s Mylar. Very shiny. Anyone with a pair of high power binoculars could see it, and a decent camera could pick it up well enough, too. But, it’s in US airspace, so exercise or not, if the public has seen it, they’re going to address it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. They might not know. Or, sending interceptors might be part of it. That’s literally how some military exercises work. Enhances realism. If you don’t know it’s an exercise, it’s a better test of capabilities. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Well, NORAD doesn’t do those things. For all we know, this could be a US exercise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Those are things that the US military can do… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. It’s going around. Penn State got hammered by it the last couple weeks. Who would imagine that a sport where you are in extremely close proximity to a half dozen guys, who are in extremely close proximity to other people, five or six days a week, could have people get sick from a highly contagious illness? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Do you know what ELINT collection and MILDEC are? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
