I don't know if that's a fair conclusion. Seeding by nature is biased and creates matchup gaps where the higher seed is likely to advance. One example, if someone who should be a 10 seed gets the 8, he would face the #25, 9/24, and 1/16/17/32/33 seeds on the frontside. If he got the 10 seed, he could run into the 2, 3, 6, 7, and/or 11.

Carter said he doesn't want to be a 5-timer. If he and Brooks win 4 they will certainly be among the best PSU wrestlers of all time but here's where we need to invoke some qulitative factors. I would put Nolf above them for the sheer creativity he brought to his matches and the way he put up points. Taylor's offensive pace and chain wrestling. Cassar for his expectations coming in and how he finished. Then you have Ruth and Nickal who make CarStar and Brooks look downright boring. Starocci much moreso than Brooks.

I'd rather have an imperfect system that does the sport good than one that doesn't. The algorithm right now rewards ducking, penalizes conference strength, and sets up brackets with conference matches that we've already seen during the season. Even if a committe doesn't get the seeding right, it could fix some of these basic flaws in the formula.
