  1. Also for those who drove in to Tulsa, how were the highways going in and out of there?
  2. The year they held Nationals in NYC people were bitching up a storm about how difficult it was. St. Louis is fine and familiar, but a lot of people seem burnt out on that location.
  3. Could also be from the officials, coaches, and other folks walking on the mats in street shoes.
  4. Yeah, Angel Reese (the LSU player) was talking after the Final Four about how Clark disrespected South Carolina, flicking her wrist and leaving her player unguarded, and she took it personally. Great game, though. And great tournament. I heard the WBB tournaments had the highest TV ratings ever this year. Now, if ESPN would go all-in on wrestling like they did with WBB this year they might be able to draw more viewers away from MBB which CBS has exclusive rights to.
  5. What would Iowa's All-Time Second Team look like? I'm sure there would be plenty of debate but my gut tells me even the backup squad would give PSU's GOATs a tough go... Ironside, Lewis, Davis, Alger, Terry, Metcalf, McDonough, TJ, Steiners, Schwab... does Mocco count? Still, a lot of hammers to pick from.
  6. Dang, I thought the Hawkeyes were gonna win it all tonight. Caitlin Clark is a force of nature. But congrats to LSU. Maybe Spencer and Caitlin will comiserate on the next episode.
  7. Thanks for sharing this. I'm chipping in a few bucks. Wishing the Robb family the best.
  8. I don't know if it's a scam or a questionably designed school assignment, but if it's any consolation there's a label on the bottom of the form that says it came from a school. Not to assume that it wasn't hacked or scribbled in there by someone else.
  9. Would've been hilarious if Gibbons did a back somersault to get out of a single leg from Lewis.
  10. I guess I'm a fan of the "never stop fighting no matter what" mantra as you might notice from some of my other picks. It was 14-3 going into the last minute of the 3rd period before the tides completely turned. But I cannot deny the action, scoring, and excitement of Schultz vs. Banach (1982 NCAAs) which I forgot to link above. Just epic wrestling.
  11. Good point. A lot of those link shorteners have a preview feature so you can at least see what it is or where the link goes to before you click. Here's how to preview some popular shortened links: tinyurl: Between the "http://" and the "tinyurl," type preview. (or use their preview tool). Example: https://preview.tinyurl.com/eahz9f5v bit.ly: At the end of the URL, add a plus (+). Example: https://bit.ly/3KmQaFG+ goo.gl: At the end of the URL, add a plus (+) is.gd: At the end of the URL, add a hyphen (-) tiny.cc: At the end of the URL, add an equals (=) snipurl: Between the "http://" and the "snipurl," type peek. Example: https://peek.snipurl.com/63f0992 For anything else, you can try one of these URL checkers to see if they are legit: https://unshorten.it/ http://getlinkinfo.com/ http://urlxray.com/ Credit to my wife for sharing this and keeping me from getting hacked.
  12. If it wasn't for Larry Owings, this would be my favorite for 141: (142) McIlravy vs. Abas (1993 NCAAs)
  13. Watched these and several others last night, to my wife's chagrin. All great matches. I love Youtube. Is there a video of the full match anywhere?
  14. First rule they need to fix is the challenge and video review process.
  15. I like the Fix to Penn State assumption that a year in State College will get him past Vito.
  16. Both are great matches. The 2018 match was at 184 though and not as good as Rohn-Lambrecht or Schultz-Banach. 2016 Martin-Nickal was at 174 and MyMar crashed the bracket as an 11th seeded true freshman and beat #1 Nickal to win the title in a thrilling high scoring match. That was pretty exciting.
  17. Probably a good lesson in there somewhere about kids comming so much of their young lives to wrestling, all the time at such a young age. When Jesuroga took time off for his injury it was like "wow, life is pretty good when I'm not cutting weight and grinding all year 'round". Happy to hear he's enjoying some time to himself before he gets back to it again.
  18. For 133 Ness vs. Dennis in the 2010 NCAA finals was up there but Ironside and Kolat was overall a better match imo. Ramos vs. Lee this year was a thriller for sure but is still too raw for me to put on my list right now.
  19. Not necessarily talking about the greatest wrestlers, but the greatest, most exciting, most memorable matches. I'm having a tough time thinking of good ones outside of NCAAs because the stakes are so high, but I imagine many here will have some better ideas 125 Mills vs. Gonzales (1979 NCAA finals) 133 Ironside vs. Kolat (1996 All Star Classic) 141 Owings vs. Gable (1970 NCAAs) 149 Marianetti vs. McIlravy (1995 NCAAs) 157 Jenkins vs. Taylor (2011 NCAAs) 165 Hendricks vs. Churella (2006 NCAAs) 174 Martin vs. Nickal (2016 NCAAs) 184 Rohn vs. Lambrecht (2002 NCAAs) 197 Kilgore vs. Foster (2011 NCAAs) 285 Cassar vs. Steveson (2019 NCAAs)
  20. Probably a very popular item in Africa, along with all the Philadelphia Eagles 2023 Super Bowl Champions gear
  21. It looks like he quit wrestling and switched to basketball when he was a teenager. THEN HE SHOULD HAVE WRESTLED GRECO
  22. I feel betrayed. We could have had Mason Parris vs. a 7'1" Russian in this year's finals. https://theathletic.com/4350038/2023/03/27/fau-vladislav-goldin-russia-final-four/
  23. Teskee ain't exactly known for his loyalty so all bets are off.
  24. Imagine this guy showing up at CHA. The end result would be really really really really really good or really really really really really bad. Maybe both.
