  1. Thing that bothers me isn't just the lack of acknowledgment that that their wrestlers screwed up. It's not taking ownership of what happened and acknowledging they screwed up as the head coaches. No one expects the coaching staff to babysit their wrestlers 24x7 but I don't think it's too much to ask a hc to make sure they're checking the boxes on mandatory NCAA policies and procedures, like compliance training. The buck stops with them, yet they take no accountability and blame others.
  2. Wasn't there a documentary about Lance and Colin Palmer during their hs days that included a clip of them wrestling a bear and other farm livestock? I can't remember if it was a full documentary film or a Flo production or Youtube video, and I have no idea what made me think of this video just now
  3. Ah right, the Pan Am Championships/Games/Qualifier gets me every time.
  4. The runway is growing ever shorter, though. Iowa only has 5 or 6 duals left before Big Tens.
  5. Weirdly, AZ will probably be without a QB if their starting guy goes with Fisch to Washington. I don't know how the AZ fans feel about DeLaura.
  6. Yes. Actually, the last post I made about Ech was whether his case was still ongoing:
  7. They're both there to qualify the weight for their country, no? While I'd love to see them wrestle, I wouldn't be surprised if one or both forfeits if they meet in the finals. IIRC, the top 2 qualify for Paris. I don't know if or how it would affect their UWW ranking points or Olympic seeding.
  8. Throw in a couple of Susie Shagwells and it's a deal
  9. In related news, this football player was charged with sexual assault and transferred to Texas State last week. He was set to be their QB1 next season but students said "nahh" and let him know he was not welcome at their program, so he withdrew from the school. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/texas-state-qb-jayden-de-laura-withdraws-from-school-no-longer-with-team-one-week-after-announcing-transfer/ Meanwhile, AJ is still in IC and signing autographs for fans at CHA. Why?
  10. I'll take a KMF over 10 Cinnabons anyday
  11. Maybe this doesn't matter because of ducking and all the ORS this season, but it would be nice to recognize teams and especially individual wrestlers who go out and compete a tough schedule. They should be recognized and rewarded.
  12. Where can I find the team and individual strength of schedule rankings? Who has the toughest schedule? For team SOS, Columbia has been the talk of the town... Columbia at: Iowa, UNI, Army, Cornell, Princeton, Penn vs: tOSU, UM, American, Brown, Bucknell, Harvard neutral site: WVU tournaments: Clarion Open, Cliff Keen, Soldier Salute ... but Oregon State, tOSU, ASU, and Iowa have schedules that look as tough, if not tougher than Columbia's. Oregon State at CSUB, Iowa, UNC, OSU, UALR, ASU, Stanford, Wyo vs PSU, Cal Poly, ns Greensboro, NDSU, Queens-Charlotte ts Cliff Keen, Southeastern Open Ohio State at Columbia, Hofstra, VT, MSU, PSU, Rutgers, UW vs Cornell, Edinboro, Pitt, Illinois, IU, UMD, UM, ns Lock Haven, NCSU, UNI ts Clarion Open, Cliff Keen ASU at Mizzou, OSU, Pitt, Cal Poly, CSUB, UALR, vs ISU, Lehigh, Nebraska Oregon State, Stanford ns Lock Haven, UNC ts Cliff Keen, Journeyman Classic, Midlands Iowa at Cal Bap, ISU, OSU, Penn, Illinois, UM, Nebraska, the Northwestern vs Columbia, Oregon State, Minny, PSU, Purdue, UW ns -- ts Luther Open, Soldier Salute Who else? I think Hofstra had a rough looking schedule, maybe Lehigh too.
  13. What's crazier, AJF's tweet or all the basketball watchers here coming out of the woodwork?
  14. He doesn't make good on his wagers and he posts his takes as stupid questions
  15. Minimum # of matches is just one factor in the rankings. SOS is another to even out fewer high quality wins vs. pinfelling a ton of fishes.
  16. But what will we talk about during the actual offseason? I guess it's an election and Olympic year...
  17. Interesting stuff with Haselrig and Simons. As a side note, this and many other recent threads are usually chatter for the offseason. Why so much of it now? Is everyone bored with the dual season or what? No hate on the OP or this discussion or the others of course, just something I noticed.
  18. There was a documentary that followed Brandon Sorenson in high school and another with the Peppelman brothers.
  19. @Le duke is pretty sharp on PSU news and mentioned the other day that Haines is probably banged up. Multiple injuries going back to last season and surgery over the summer. My theory is that Mesenbrink is Mesenbreaking Haines in the practice room. (kidding, we know PSU doesn't practice like that)
