  1. Destribats will probably be there at 65
  2. Maybe Gomez or Tobier (I assume) will pop a positive test before July. Kidding, but (speaking of PSU) IIRC that's how Molinaro punched his ticket to the Olympics
  3. Nice win by Gomez. Went on a 16-2 run. Did he just Andonian his knee? Or was that the same injury as before?
  4. Ah, thanks. I mistakenly got into thinking about why more 7s weren't making the finals and got caught up with "first" having to knock out the #1.
  5. Also anyone know off the top of their head what seed was Mekhi Lewis when he won it his freshman year? I remember him being seeded in the 7-11 range
  6. Doesn't the 7 go on the bottom side? Seems they'd need the 2 & 3 to go down. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your comment.
  7. Ben Kjar came close too, was unseeded (I believe) and lost a close one to Robles in the semis
  8. Has it been a boring season? Lots to be excited about, but are they washed over by DDM, ducks/abbreviated seasons, too much PSU dominance, too much attention on the B1G? There's been a lot of offseason talk (the discussions that start up in the offseason bc everyone's bored) on here, too. Kinda strange.
  9. Nahh it's geometric and not my favorite design but it doesn't look that bad either
  10. He's a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma in a beanie.
  11. Thanks. 2nd offense DUI/OWI and driving with a revoked license. https://iowastatedaily.com/290357/sports/breaking-two-time-ncaa-qualifier-kysen-terukina-arrested-for-violation-of-probation/
  12. Sometimes, part of the fun is the speculation (or blog posts!) about the hypothetical matchups. But I'm on board with this because knowing the draws in advance would facilitate sports betting and sports betting would draw more fans to the sport. The athletes and their coaches would also be able to gameplan AND do some trash talking at each other in the leadup to the tournament! A lot of things could go wrong, though. Wrestler doesn't make weight, fails medical exam, gets a last minute injury, doesn't make the trip. But still!
  13. What's Terukina's status? I saw that he turned himself in and was arrested a little over a week ago for violating his probation. Is he still on the team? While he fell short of the expectations I had for him, I thought he could still be a landmine at Nationals.
  14. This explains a lot. "Hey coach, I'm able to get to my opponents leg but have a tough time finishing when I motion and shoot left. Any advice?" "Well ya see, you gotta scramble through, and when you scramble it's bad when you don't know it's a scramble, but you can also scramble and get into scrambles and know you're in a scramble and so then you scramble through and will always get the takedown."
  15. They wrestle through the challenge tournament in all 3 styles on Friday (4/19), and best of 3 & consis on Saturday (4/20). 4/19 Session I - 10am (doors open at 8:30am) Session II - 7:30pm (doors 6pm) 4/20 Session III - 12pm (doors 10:30am) Session IV - 8pm (doors 6:30pm)
  16. I'm not a fan of Ayala's three point stance offense. Guy like Ramos will blast right through that. Speaking for myself though, I'd be A LOT more confident in Ramos if he hadn't lost to Blaze. I know, that was then, this is now. But it wasn't a great look.
  17. The staff says he's fine and the brace is just a precautionary thing. Grain of salt, though!
  18. Wasn't Varner pretty young when Snyder took his spot as our rep? I know he took some time off during that cycle but he was also the sitting Olympic champ
  19. I have high expectations for Siebrecht who I assume will also be back. Maybe he goes 149 though.
  20. We'll probably see Starocci with a full tree stump wrap (Starotree?) but the injury could impact his gas tank. He's already recovering from sickness and trying to get his conditioning back to normal. That'll be tough to do without the use of his leg. Time for swimming, I guess
